Maps no longer speaks directions even though I have it turned on in Settings. ?Same when I use CarPlay. ?Not sure if the updates to the new iOS screwed things up or not. ?Is anyone else having the same problem? ?Any ideas for a fix? ?I really miss the voice when I¡¯m driving.

On more than one occasion, for reasons unknown to me, when I turn on Maps and start my journey, just like you, there's no sound. What I found is that the sound level has been turned all the way down and clicking the increase sound button on the side solves the problem. Give it a try.

I tried using the side button to increase sound, but no joy. ?I think it must be a bug in the new iOS. ?I haven¡¯t tried Google maps. (I have aversion to all things Google.) ?But if sound works as expected with Google maps I might have to bite the bullet and give it a try.
