Face ID not working suddenly

have an iPhone X running IOS 16.7.2 and my face recognition quit working. ?I now need to type in my passcode each time I wake up my phone. ?I¡¯ve powered off the phone several times but it still doesn¡¯t work. ?I¡¯ve tried resetting the face ID but it won¡¯t let me. ?I have 256 G memory which is not half used. ?Any suggestions? ?The facial recognition is just so handy and I miss it.?
I am planning on getting the iPhone 15 soon
