FUD is an acronym for Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt.?

In this particular reference is has to do with starting rumors about NameDrop, when the author clearly doesn¡¯t know what they are talking about and haven¡¯t researched it, but insist on spreading Fear.?

My original response was to tell readers that I never click links unless the message explains why it's worth doing so.

Now there's a message with an abbreviation that I do NOT understand - FUD

and there's repeated mention of NameDrop.

I am totally confused

I understand the rumors were FUD, but I wish they would use Opt-In, rather than Opt-Out.?

NameDrop is basically eye-candy. A feature that makes a whole lot about nothing.?

I understand why Apple changes default settings during major upgrades. It is to showcase or highlight the new eye-candy, uh, features.?

I would rather that they list the new feature, with links to more info, and let the user turn the interesting ones on. Although, that would also show that there are only one or two new features that are worth a second thought, and another dozen that are just eye-candy.?

You don't have namedrop unless you are running iOS 17.

I never click on links that arrive without any explanation as to why doing so might be interesting or useful.
