Re: Battery drain

Apple is good and fast with repairs, but obviously you have not dealt with AppleCare or repairs with Apple. You seldom get to speak to the same person when you call. They often don't make repairs in the stores, it is more often an exchange. AppleCare call centers do not do repairs, and stores do not accept mailed in hardware. Both will arrange expedited shipping to Repair Centers, a third location.

I have an Apple Store 20 minute drive from me, and I *have* had Applecare repairs on Mac computers (but not iPhones or iPads). I¡¯ve had Mac laptops for over 20 years.

The significant problems needed to be sent off (as opposed to fixed in store). One time, with a brand new machine, they pulled it off the repair line to do a complete disassembly for Quality Assurance purposes, but someone forgot to make the notation to ¡°send customer a new machine¡±, and I had to call to ask about it before they sent a new one.

Another time, I had *a* problem (that I knew about), but when I got it back from Texas, in a matter of 4 days or so, they had replaced the screen, the motherboard, and much of the innards. Under Applecare.
