setting for table fixed

I had the settings for the food table set wrong so only I could add items. Now it should work. Apologies if you already tried and failed. Please try again.

Re: ALLEY PARTY - SUNDAY, MAY 1

Hi Antonia.

We are away this weekend, but I arrive home Sunday at about 6. I'd love to contribute, but I might not be backing time. We have a ton of plastic cups we could provide. If you need them sooner, my husband Nate could put them on our back porch before he leaves town on Saturday morning.

Hope we can help.
Kyle

I noticed no one else has filled in any items in the table yet, which is fine, but might be helpful to do so.

Also, I forgot about the need for plates, cups and utensils. Could everyone plan to bring some of those as well.

I will plan to have a table set up which will hold these items next to the drinks cooler.

Looks like we are going to have good weather.

Don't forget our first alley party is scheduled for this Sunday, May 1, NE end of the 11/10th st alley, starts at 4pm till whenever. Sorry I haven't sent out a reminder sooner but we've been away over spring break.

So, we need to do some nominal planning. The idea is to set out tables with food and drink against the back of our garages/yards.

My thought was everyone could bring a dish of your choice, entree, desert, salad, h'orderves, chips, etc.... I figure we will get a decent mix by default.

The question is what we want to do for drinks. Someone mentioned a keg? We could also set out coolers and everyone could bring nonalcoholic drinks (water, soda, juice for the kids) and beer and/or wine.

I will put myself in charge of getting ice and some balloons to make it a bit festive.

Thoughts?

Now let's hope the weather holds for us.

Thanks, Antonia

A reminder that we are having our annual yard sale (Elizabeth, Antonia, and Sara) this Saturday, April 30th in front of 230 and 222 11th st SE, 9am-2pm. Others are still more than welcome to join us. The more the merrier! We will be posting signs and advertising on local listserves this week.

Items include: kid's toys and clothes (boy 4-5 and girl 8yr), Household items, books, CDs, DVDs and videos, adult clothes etc....

Come one come all!

ALLEY PARTY - SUNDAY, MAY 1

Me and Lise and Scott make plays

Hi neighbors,

Just wanted to let everyone know that making plays is what keeps me and Lise and Scott (over here at 226) very busy. And we have our own group called Taffety Punk. We hope you'll sign up for our mailing list (). And we sincerely hope that you'll check out our new show, THE CAR PLAYS which opens this weekend over at the Capitol Hill Arts Workshop.

More info is here: . And our latest newsletter is here: .

Thanks a bunch!

Marcus

Thanks for the invite Antonia! Perfect timing - I need to do some serious Spring cleaning.

Please count me in. I'd love to set up a table and hopefully sell some items.

Thank you!

Elizabeth Eddie and I have been doing an annual spring yard sale together for the last 4 years or so. We are planning this year's for Saturday, April 30th, 9 am - 1 pm. Nothing fancy just a way to clean the house out of old toys and things we don't use anymore.

We'd love to have others join us if you are interested. The more the merrier. Just let us know. We will be combining our stuff either in front of 230 or 219 l1th st SE. You can set up in front of your own place at the same time or come down to where we are, whatever works.

I will be posting signs and advertising on MOTH and the Hill is Home the week before.

I just purchased a big yellow stand up "Children at Play" sign so that if we ever get another nice day and the kids are out playing in the alley we can put it up and hopefully that will help slow (or stop entirely) the cars driving thru the alley cross road.

And I should add, as I forgot to, many thanks to all of you who also helped make all these postive developments on our block happen. Wouldn't have succeeded otherwise.

Plus I wanted to officially welcome our two new neighbors -

Kara and Michael in 223 11th st

and

Jonathan, Kristen, Theo, and Henry in 221 11th st.

Great additions to the block!

I hope this party will be a chance for everyone to meet them and each other.

While it wasn't as much as we all hoped would be done (or dreamed about like Gessford) it is still a vast improvement over where it was a year ago. And with the nice weather this weekend many of us took advantage and were out back socializing and watching the kids playing together.

I thought it would be fun to have a block alley party one weekend afternoon. Block it off from cars and we could have a potluck with tables set up and food and drinks. I mentioned this to some folks and everyone seemed to like the idea.
