Second Annual Capitol Hill Diaper Drive
September 8-22, 2012
The Second Annual Capitol Hill Diaper Drive to benefit the DC Diaper Bank starts Saturday, September 8.
How do diapers make a difference? When a family cannot afford enough diapers, a baby may wear one diaper all day long, putting the child at risk of infection. Research has shown that the stress caused when a child wears a dirty diaper all day is a contributing factor to child abuse.
The DC Diaper Bank collects diapers to provide to families in need in our community. Your donation will help babies and families in a simple, but essential, way.
You can donate new or open packages of diapers. Please label open packs with the size and number of diapers. *The Diaper Bank is always in need of larger sizes (4 and up) and Pull Ups.
The Diaper Bank also accepts formula, diaper wipes, and diaper cream. All those items must be unopened. ?
The Diaper Bank will have a booth at Eastern Market on September 8 and 15 as part of the diaper drive.? If you're interested in volunteering to staff the booth, please contact LBinDC@...
Diapers can be dropped off, from September 8 to 22, at Metro Mutts (508 H St NE), the Playseum (545 8th St SE) or ShawaFel (1322 H St NE). Each of our fabulous sponsors is offering a reward for donating *a package of diapers*. ShawaFel, a terrific Lebanese restaurant, will give10% off a meal purchase. The Playseum, a wonderful children's activity center, will give a bubble bath-making activity including a bottle of bubble bath to take home ($3 value). Metro Mutts, a unique pet boutique, will give a 15% discount (excluding food and frontline) on a purchase.
