There will be a community meeting tomorrow night at the Brent School, 6:30-8:00PM, to hear from Councilmember Wells so that he can answer questions regarding the Hine School?development which will have an enormous impact on our neighborhood.? We hope to receive clarification regarding his position on reducing the?size of the weekend flea markets and the privatizing of the reopened 700 block C Street, SE, and many other issues of concern to?the community's residents.? We hope you will be able to attend.? ?
????? Also, save the date(s):? The public?hearings before the Zoning Commission on the developer's PUD application are scheduled on June 14th and June 21st at 6:30PM.? These hearings will determine the ultimate?size and scope of the project as well as?what amenities and benefits will be provided to our community.? We are encouraging as many people as possible to attend these hearings.? Several groups have hired lawyers and experts to assist?in ensuring that the development is compatible with?the Capitol Hill Historic District, and that the development will retain the current residential character of our neighborhood while adding commercial development.
