Stagecoach East Midlands - Allocation Changes - Period 7
Control of the Long Sutton depot (between Spalding and Kings¡¯ Lynn) passed from Stagecoach East to Stagecoach East Midlands during this period, resulting in many of the allocation changes below.? Most of the deckers moving in to Long Sutton (LO) are temporary movements until Scania/E400s 15613-19 ex Stagecoach Oxfordshire arrive/are prepared for service.

Ecclesfield depot is flooded. The buses that are going to Rawmarsh are just going to be fuelled (though flooding at Parkgate is now hampering this), and are returning to Ecclesfield where they are being parked in the car park at Morrisons Supermarket (as happened in the 2007 floods too...) The ones going to Holbrook are staying there for now. Holbrook depot services 7, 25, 52 and 120 are continuing operate but heavily delayed and diverted. All operations from Ecclesfield are suspended for the rest of the day. All services from Chesterfield were suspended briefly but are now starting to operate. For those not in the area... It's raining, a lot. Conditions and river levels said to be as bad as when the major floods occurred in Sheffield in June 2007.
The River Don has over topped at Meadowhall, and most major roads in and out of Sheffield are under water (Penistone Road at Hillsborough, Chesterfield Road at Heeley, Langsett Road at Oughtibridge to name a few). As such, Stagecoach have suspended all services in Sheffield for the remainder of the evening (though some vehicles are still out trying to finish their route some hours after the suspension was put in place) and I gather First are shortly to do likewise. Additionally the Stagecoach depot at Ecclesfield is at risk of flooding, so vehicles are being moved over to Holbrook and Rawmarsh depots at present. Ian |

Stagecoach Yorkshire 05/11
ex Oxfordshire 'Gold' Scania/E400s 15609/10 (OU10 BHA/D) have arrived at Chesterfield depot and are being prepared for service.? A further 6 are to follow (reportedly 15533-7 and 15611 - but that may change!). In a change to the planned fleet moves that occurred?in October, E200 36719 (YN62 BDU) moved from Barnsley to Ecclesfield (not Holbrook as initially planned) resulting in similar 36413 (YN11 FFD) remaining at Holbrook rather than moving to Ecclesfield. Reserve fleet Dart/Pointer 35112 (YN06 WCO) is in use at Rawmarsh as the seasonal 'delay buster' vehicle, used when shopping traffic around Parkgate in Rotherham throws the schedules out.? In previous years a MAN/ALX300 from the reserve fleet has undertaken this role. Ian |

Passed through Pickering - as ever to go somewhere else, to be honest - on the way to Whitby and back over the weekend, and aside from the usual thin pickings in Whitby, I have a query. I passed an NYCC low-floor minibus out on the 170 Pickering Town Service, but I'm stuffed if I can remember what it was. I have a hunch that it might have been a Bluebird Tucana bodied VW, but I can't confirm for sure. Can anyone help? (Whitby is not great for buses anymore - a handful of Solos on the 95, 2870/71 are now two of them; the P&R ended for the season on Sunday, with Gemini 2DLs 7609/10 doing good business until the last day; and Coastliner and Arriva provide their smart 'deckers on the 840 and X93 respectively. Comparative timetables are attached below. All triips will be worked by Chesterfield from Yesterday. Until last Sunday the Sun only 560 1130 Ex London / 1700 Ex Sheffield was worked by Clarke¡¯s of London, (Part of the Nat Ex group). It will now be operated by Stagecoach Yorkshire.
