Re: FW: Let's Get More Registrations For The 2021eASL OPEN
Jeff Wright
I’m not playing in the Open, but I understand from someone who is that it’s both VASL and “live”. I’m not sure how that would work if opponents have different interests in format. Just thought I’d mention that to keep in mind.?

Thanks Chuck for the quick reply, to Tom for confirming and of course to Ted for the nice design, you guys are awesome.
The American must keep his personal morale in check early on, it is the German who might get sweaty palms later on when the USA armor?arrives.
Good luck to everyone in this one, take care, Vic.

My copy of Morning Massacre, DB 157 has Ted Wilcox as the Scenario Designer, not Tom Morin.
I am guessing mine is not a misprint but you could have some insider information that I do not have.
Best,
Mitch
Follow up. Better question is, was that designer intent? As you correctly point out Derek, that is the impact of the rule. Tom Morin?

Subject: [yasl] DB157 Morning Massacre SSR question?
My posting is around how SSR#1 impacts Interdiction.?? Situation: -? SSR#1 says that "Due to dawn low visibility conditions, FFMO (A4.6) is NA for the scenario."?? -? From A10.53 Interdiction:??A routing unit which enters an Open Ground hex without Low Crawl, in both the LOS and Normal Range of an unbroken enemy unit capable of fire on it in that hex with at least one FP without any form of LOS Hindrance, is subject to a NMC and everything that normally entails.? -? From A10.54 Open Ground:??For purposes of rout determination, Dash, concealment gain/loss, and Interdiction, an Open Ground hex is any hex in which?the particular enemy unit(s) could apply, during a hypothetical Defensive First Fire opportunity (regardless of what attacks it actually made in previous phases), the -1 FFMO DRM. Conclusion:? Due to SSR #1, units can now route across streets, etc. without the risk of Interdiction (assumes they follow all the other routing direction rules).?? Question:? Is the conclusion correct? How are others interpreting this and playing it? Thanks, Derek |

I have noticed that some rules, when saying FFMO doesn't apply, specifically say that it still DOES apply to things like Interdiction, Residual, etc.? Would love to know the designer's intent.
