You bet Ralph, Kiri was awesome at making SSRs as close to following the rulebook as possible, along with being able to understand it. With him and Allen in the club, we had an answer for just about anything ASL. Before I had experts like Steve Pleva and Paul Sidhu for rules questions and strategy tips, we had Kiri and Allen. I miss them both!

I will make a game date here in Pittsfield soon and look forward to visiting you this Summer as well. See you at some point, roll low, Vic.?EmojiEmoji

Totally agree with everything, the one thing Kiri was excellent at was correcting playtest scenarios SSRs to make sure the were ASLeze and also all the work on VOTG with rules/SSRs.? I will always remember playing BRT CG III against Kiri.? I had rolled well on USMC leaders, several 10-3s and 10-2s and I remember only one wounded 10-3 making it to shore on the initial wave.

Yes indeed Carl, the one thing that drove Kiri nuts and eventually out of ASL was the dice, he just could not take a string of bad outcomes and then it was heads up for flying dice! Great guy in any event, and one of the best ever in region at rules questions. There is no doubt in my mind he and Allen Loiselle were quite a team for both rules issues and as a campaign team, you could not beat those guys if the dice were anywhere near fair. I will fondly remember the old club when we had both of them in it. I will devote the next Signals editorial in Dispatch #60 to Kiri, Allen and the old club from earlier this century, Vic.

Anyone who got to play with him in the 1990s and 2000s found a very tough opponent, he and Allen Loiselle knew the rulebook inside and out and were our in house rules experts. We had a great RB campaign with him and it was very sad that he let the dice get to him over time, he left ASL around 15 years ago but was still hosting gaming Saturdays a few years after he stopped playing ASL. He was a good friend who I had not seen in over a decade and just so sad to hear he is gone.?

Joe Gochinski is gettting info on if there will be a wake for anyone interested, I'll let Joe chime in when he gets any concrete info. I'm 70 now so this is quite sobering to me but I'm doing OK and hope to roll many dice in the coming years.?

I hope to see some of you out this way at some point, I'll be hosting a game day in Pittsfield sometime soon. I also plan to get out to Chuck Tewksbury's garage for gaming before Summer's heat. I hope to see you and we all need to treasure anytime we play together. Have a good Thursday, Vic.?
