Thanks, Jaya! It’s installed and I’ll play with it. Took me a bit to find where my friend activity had gone. That’s my major interface with Ravelry these days — scrolling to look for eye candy. But at least now I can see the menu.

Thanks for sharing Jaya – I’d seen that but haven’t explored it yet.? I mostly use Ravelry on my desktop and try to avoid using it on my phone anyway, so this would be a big help for me.
?
My phone still has one “old version” tab open (I did say “try”) and the differences in how things are delineated (what some people have called the grid lines) and the color choices and arrangement of the interface elements makes an amazing amount of difference
for me.??

Pretty sad about this today.

I am annoyed by the cutesiness of the hot air balloons and sailing clouds (and moving stuff? yuck). Didn't spend enough time there today to have much of an opinion yet about usability. Gut feeling is why mess with what worked fine? But I know people get tired of things and want change. And I'm sure I'll get used to this too. I don't mind the clean white page backgrounds and new drop-down menus.

I clomped around a bit after the owner of one of my Facebook groups pointed it out (reaction was mixed and about 50/50). I glanced at the forums I follow, posted a photo in my projects. Other than that. . . Truthfully, it’s as much Rav action as I have had in months. ? ?

I don't really like it - it's just too white, and I don't think I'll like reading it on my tablet when I watch tv, either.? Most folks who have responded in places I read (not the main FTLoR board) don't seem too keen.

Wow. It seems pretty unfortunate and decidedly dated in appearance compared to the original. ?It also has a ‘grasping for syndication’/failed Craftsy feel that worries me wrt Ravelry overall health.?

Mary, One other thought. I found that I had to restart the download after it crashed. Do you see a tiny arrow next to the progress bar or two lines (a pause icon)? If it is the arrow, try clicking it.
Secondly, close the application - it doesn't close automatically after it is done and restart it. Last ditch is to uninstall and reinstall.?
Yes, the speed matters. You could try one episode - it all depends on your link in bluprint. If there is one number than then a slash, it is the course number. Mine were? 3-5 digits. The second number after the slash is the episode number. So if you click on an episode and copy the link, it will include the episode number. See if one will download.?

Yesterday, I attempted to download one course, first to the external drive and then to the Allavsoft folder on drive C.? In each case the bits and pieces of classes were downloaded:? maybe the first full lesson and then parts and bits of some of the rest, maybe a random photograph of a project (wasn't expecting that),? I never downloaded an entire course.?
While I may have straightened out the settings, I now think that the internet connection in Southport is unstable enough to caused interruptions in service that the software can't handle.
This morning, when I made the same attempt, the software show it's downloading, but it clearly isn't doing it.? 25 minutes after beginning the download, it is still showing 0% progress.
I don't think it's the software, although I could uninstall and reinstall, just to be sure.? I think it's Southport's connectivity.?
I think I'm out of luck here, at least for awhile.? A little frustrated, but I don't think there's much I can do at this point.

Shannon,? I began the download process, using Allavsoft with an brand new external HD attached to the laptop.? The external drive is 3 Terabytes with a nice, heavy duty cable.? It should be ready for the job.
I had mixed success so far and have paused the operation.? I attempted to have the download go directly to the external HD, but it nevertheless defaulted to my Allavsoft folder on drive C.? I'm going to re-check my settings and give it another try today.? The Settings screens are what I'd describe as "sensitive" and sometimes revert to the default.? I don't think I've neglected to make sure the settings are saved, but I'll definitely check that too.
So Shannon and Jaya,? both of you then manually move all of the episodes for one class into a designated class folder?? That's ton of work, but I'm willing to do it if that's the best method to use since I'm downloading my entire playlist.
I did email Allavsoft about the external drive as the destination for the download.? They responded quickly.? It certainly appears that they don't really recommend having the downloads sent to an external drive b/c it may cause a download failure.? Here is Allavsoft suppport's response:
Please to set the hard drive as the output location and then move the? downloaded files to your external drive. Please click Option-> General ->Browse to select your hard drive as? output location. If you still insist use an external drive as output location which may? cause download failed, here is guide: If you use an external hard drive, let's say, the external hard drive? is named X:, then simply set "File Naming" to? "X:\mybluprint\%(title).%(ext)" in "Option - Preference...", and then? resume all downloadings by Pressing "Ctrl + F5" in Allavsoft.
Obviously,? I'm still a little lost with this process!? Anyone with any suggestions, chime in, please!
Mary
