Problem solved, I just wanted to follow up on my post. ?I bought a used vox card from eBay, tested it in my scrap 301 o be sure it worked, then put it in the 301 I was working on, and it works fine! ?So unless there is something freaky going on in the radio I think the problem is solved. ?So the initial issue with the little chip going bad could have been from age. ?Since there were no old chips available, I replaced it with the newer one which was supposed to be compatible. ?But when putting it in the radio, it didn¡¯t work. ?Don¡¯t know if it was a defective part, or if the radio burned it out, or if the newer ones are not compatible.
