Jib sheets stuck down the side of the mast
Has anyone else had issues with jib sheets getting trapped between the mast and foredeck, and is there a solution? Got a bit hairy in 25 knots a couple of weeks ago with the jib pinned in after tacking. Would a short piece of elastic across the deck behind the mast be a simple solution, or is there a better way? |

On Behalf Of John Sharples 1646 ? Crew (children) will still need to put the pole in the spinnaker and change it to other side when gybing etc. It's also hoisted/dropped by the helm (at least in my boat) while trying to steer and control mainsheet. Re: Spinnaker chute
Thanks all. I did consider going the whole hog and fitting an asymentric as I'm not racing anyway. Maybe one day! Jonathan Daniel

Re: Spinnaker chute
Hi Johnathan Ian Porter used to sell a kit to retrofit the chute in the older Anglo Marine boats.? No sock is used, so you may need to smooth inside the foredeck to stop snagging and tearing the spinnaker. Good luck with the job.?? Spinnaker chute
Hi all, another request for help! I notice that some of the later Anglo Marine Wanderers have a spinnaker chute in the foredeck. Is there a template available for this so it can be retrofitted? I know it will be a big job (winter project) but it should make spinnaker handling when sailing with the children a lot more friendly! I'm thinking I can take a pattern off the foredeck after covering it with release agent, and build some kind of curved surround that will then drop in place when the hole is cut in the foredeck. Also is there a sock behind it, or does the spinnaker just go into the void underneath? As always, any assistance vey much appreciated. Jonathan Daniel |

Lifting tiller

At the risk of continuing the debate, here is the finished product. I've put the rudder blade in a vice and leant hard on the tiller to test it. The aluminium rudder head bends before anything else and there's no movement in the tiller hinge. Having said that
it won't have any strength if raised so will need to be down for sailing. The rudder up and down lines need to be released to raise the tiller but it gives full access to the box.

Hope some of you might come along to Cornwall to Wanderer West next June.? Would be great to see some of these boats out there and get a look at what people have done. John Sharples On Thu, 30 Dec 2021, 13:02 Stephen Clampin, <sclampin@...> wrote:

Yes, I did that with mine - two rectangular hatches either side of the centre line of the lid so you can lift either hatch without fouling the tiller and have access to the whole locker. Best mod I made to overcome that little design fault...
Measure twice, cut once when fitting the hatches!

Hi
A friend of mine has put a hatch in the top of the locker for very easy access without lifting the lid.
