We will have a special sangha this Wednesday through Zoom at 7:30pm to honor our teacher,?Thich Nhat Hanh.

A few days ago our teacher Thay passed away from his body. This Wednesday we will have a ceremony to honor and practice with him. Our brother Denys from River Valley Sangha will be joining us to lead the ceremony. You are invited to prepare for this ceremony by putting together an altar. Some things you might want to add to your altar are a picture of Thay, some candles, a plant or flowers and maybe some pictures of your ancestors. You can also add other beautiful things or a cup of tea brewed mindfully as an offering to Thay.

This is an important and auspicious time for our practice. We can contemplate our interring with Thay, we really are his continuation. Without him I would not be writing this post and many of us would not know each other or even be who we are today. He is within us, let’s keep him alive by practicing well every day. We can do this by being peaceful, mindful and compassionate, we can listen to ourselves and others deeply and with love.
