Re: Pi-SDR IQ
Gee...... Thanks Leif! (I think).
Actually, that was not my point at all. My point was that most SDR users cannot take advantage of the increased dynamic range due to HF environmental noise, location, and compromise antennas. For these users, spending an additional $50 to $100 is going to allow no significant performance improvement. Hence the Monster Cable reference. Love and kisses, Warren Allgyer - WA8TOD |
Re: Pi-SDR IQ
Hi Christos,
It is already mentioned in a previous post that the infoNO I CAN NOT!!! Soon there will be a dedicated site.Fine. It seems you will provide competition to the UADC by HB9DRI:-) A much better ADC will be useless with the Softrock unless the unit is modified. That is (the stupid) point Warren is making. With appropriate modifications and a top quality soundcard, the Softrock will outperform almost everything regardless of price. When you have a stable design that is sold to many I will want to buy one in order to evaluate it with a Softrock that is modified to make the best possible use of a good soundcard. 73 Leif |

Re: Why not Google Community
Who is actually charged with making the decision here? Do we know why that individual is not prepared to go ahead and make a decision, one way or the other??

The notion that by dragging around on this, we are going to end up with everyone happy is pretty pie in the sky, it seems to me. No matter what choice is made, a cohort of the membership is going to be unhappy. So what is preventing us from moving forward? On Tuesday, July 25, 2017, 'Wallet, Brad C.' bwallet@... Re: Move to groups.io Poll results
Several groups I subscribe to have transferred from yahoo to IO, for the better!

Re: Move to groups.io Poll results
Then you didn't noticed all the problems that have occurred here, that sending email could sometimes take over 24 hours, that sometimes responses just disappeared and never showed up. Problems with the Yahoo site being unresponsive so if one wanted to approve a member of a message was sometime a struggle.

Aside from the fact that AOL now controls the groups and they have a poor record of keeping services and shutting them of with little to nonotice, and that they will not be investing a lot of money to fix the issues. On 7/25/2017 8:34 AM, goofy_36@... [softrock40] wrote:

Re: Why not Google Community
The lead moderator is the original owner of the group, at present I
don't know how active he is but still he was theoriginal ownerso he carries a lot of weight as far as I'm concerned. I don't consider myself the lead as others are very active as moderators we are a set of equal moderators/owners, the only thing I did was when this group was being overwhelmed with SPAM I contacted the original owner to attempt to either have him assign additional moderators or if there was no response to have Yahoo assign multiple moderators. All ended OK as the original owner of the group assigned multiple moderators to help him out as he was getting overwhelmed with the SPAM. On 7/25/2017 3:42 AM, 'John' v321uk@... Re: Move to groups.io Poll results
I am on a couple other groups that made the move to . I don't recall this much complaining or confusion about it on the other groups. We just did it. What I see here strikes me as odd for some reason. 73, Zack W9SZOn Tue, Jul 25, 2017 at 8:59 AM, Chris Wilson chris@... [softrock40] <softrock40@...> wrote:

Aren’t you the lead moderator? What's that? I see 7 people listed as "Owner", I take that to mean equal status. Hopefully equal share of any decisions. I do not want to see a new group with the same problems as this group had, a single owner who probably for a very good reason was unable to respond to messages or control the group. 73 Alan G4ZFQ |

Because not one of the moderators supports moving the group. I'm readyCecil, That is unfair. The only communication on the subject has been on these open pages with all sorts of comments mixed in. What emails have you sent? All moderators are also designated owners, why have you not consulted them personally? You have just conducted a one-man campaign. Yes, I am one that does not think moving is necessary but will not oppose a democratic decision. If the poll is the right way to determine the opinion of the membership then consult the owners and we should agree to the move. Or, should dormant members have been told of the poll by a special email? Your comment about spam is again not fair, until the original owner actually came up and admitted he could not cope we could do nothing. 73 Alan G4ZFQ |
