groups.io has been notified, it might take a few days to get it all done.
Yahoo places some limits on the download amounts so they have to do it is small batches with 2 hour wait in-between the batches, but at least they allow the data to be downloaded. When I backed up the data it took me two days to get all 87,000 messages downloaded.

A poll has been taken that lasted over 30 days, after the results the moderators that participated decided to move the Yahoo softrock40 group to this location. Below is the email I sent a few minutes ago to the Yahoo group.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After looking at the result of the voting and a discussion among the owners/moderators that participated in discussing the subject we came to an unanimous decision, we will be moving the Yahoo SoftRock40 group to groups.io.
You will notice that groups.io is much faster than Yahoo when receiving or sending emails or reading the mail online.
Some notes on the process.
1. Once started, the accounts, messages, photos, and files will be moved automatically.
2. Your email delivery settings will be retained.
3. Although the accounts will be transferred your password will not be transferred, one can reset the password easily without knowing the old password, it is recommended that you enter a password. If requesting a password change an email will be sent to your email account to finish the password change.
4. If one uses a filter to sort emails the email address on the filter will need changing.
5. Accounts that have bouncing emails (dead accounts) will not be transferred.
6. Sending of emails to the old group will be disabled after confirmation that the move has taken place. A notice will be posted on the old Yahoo group to the new location of the group.
7. All the current moderators will continue to be moderators at the new group site with several active moderators promoted to owners for the future safety/stability of the group.
8. You might want to start looking at the groups new home and become familiar but note that changes to the main page are bound to occur. < /g/softrock40 > </g/softrock40%C2%A0>
9. Groups.io will send several emails to the group when they begin and when they finish the migration.
More details will be posted as the information is available but for the most part other than entering a password all other steps will be handled by groups.io.
