Question: Does RPi OS upgrade break node-red flows?
4
I last used my Node-Red Raspberry Pi in 2020 at a previous home. I just now dug it out, and it boots ok and works. But naturally, after 4 full years, Pi-OS is offering updates and upgrades. Does the OS upgrade break node-red? Or do people have a checklist or suggestions before I proceed? Thanks, Neal AB6G

Flex Radio Nodes
7
Mick I have two Flex 6600s on my LAN. I don't know how to make his code define to ip address in those nodes that use TCPIP. I think his discovery node is somehow tied into those nodes because I only get data back from the discovery node that matches the TCP nodes. I have two raspberry Pis running node-red to handle each radio separately. 73, Marty WD9GYM On Sunday, May 26, 2024 at 06:16:55 PM CDT, Mick , W8BE <w8bea2b2c2@...> wrote: Hi, Now that I have put considerable effort to understand how connecting and binding to the Flex radio is done in the FRStackWebApi framework I decided to play with Stephen's Flex nodes. As I thought the udp data has most of what is needed. As you can see below I see my 6600 from the udp data.. payload: object discovery_protocol_version: "3.0.0.2" model: "FLEX-6600" version: "3.7.4.29165" nickname: 6600 callsign: "W8BE" ip: "192.168.0.98" port: 4992 status: "In_Use" and when running 2 clients I can get the stations and handle for binding.. The question I have is has anyone used Stephen's Flex nodes with 2 radios. If so then I wonder how it treats the payload object as currently all radio info is contained in that property. When 2 radios are on does the data come in an array like the client data? I don't have 2 radios to test here at home so hoping some one has info regarding the udp payload when 2 radios are on. Little Azimuth Map project
11
Need some help with a project. This one is a bit above my paygrade. I'd like to make an azimuth map centered on me (W7IB) that displays 3 different beam headings. I do NOT want the map to be clickable or send commands in any way. I do not need to have it have the normal target line of the current available. Just a normal display Azimuth map that shows a red/blue/green beam headings with 3 separate inputs. Thank ahead for anyone willing to write the function node for this. 73 de W7IB

How to Create an Azimuth Map?

I looked in the group and can't find specific instructions. Anybody know where to make this type of azimuth map centered on a grid square? Can't get a hold of the person who usually helps with it and I need one made ASAP. Thanks Kyle AA0Z

Apps and devices that dont' expose APIs
5
I am just getting started with Node RED and I am planning to build a remote control dashboard app for my station. I have a couple of applications and devices that do not expose APIs or control interfaces. Is it possible to replicate a window on a computer in a section of a dashboard to make the associated app appear as if its part of a node RED dashboard? is there a way to identify the windows controls for an app to allow them to be clicked via node RED elements? The devices that I a worried about are a WaveNofe WN-2 wattmeter and a microHam Station Master Delux antenna controller app.

Need some Guidance on Modifying SteppIR Flow
14
Hello Group, I have been plugging away at this for a day or two on and off. I run a Urban Beam so Rotatable Dipole on 40/30 and 2 elements on 20-6. I have a SteppIR OptimizIR 2.0 controller with a LanTronix Serial to Ethernet controller plugged into the Data Out port. Does anyone have a flow already created for this setup? I tried to modify one of the posted flows for SteppIR but it was for a 3 element beam and I have not been too successful. The other thing is the flow was setup for Serial not TCP/IP. I found another flow where I was able to adjust the steppIR by clicking on the band buttons inside the dashboard and it worked successfully, but I was not able to adjust the frequency of it. Any help would be appreciated. -Mike AI5QK

WOL Node
7
I'm wondering if any of you have had success using the node-red-node-wol in a flow. I would like to start my shack PC(s) remotely. I can VPN into my home network to use my node-red server and I send the WOL packet to my PC but it doesn't start. I am able to start the PC from AnyDesk with the WOL command but I would like to start my TS=890 remotely as well via Node-Red WOL. I do have a workaround. I can install AnyDesk on my node-red server and use that to start the Windows PC. I can also use the Kenwood ARCP software to start the TS-890 then log back out and start my flow. It just bugs me to do this in a roundabout way. 73, George / W7GES

Stream Deck to Node Red
38
How can one set up a Stream Deck button so that it activates a ui-template in Node Red? For example, my NodeRed control panel flow has a ui-template button to change antennas on my K4D. I push the button on my NodeRed dashboard, antenna changes. I want to be able to push a Stream Deck button to activate that NodeRed ui-template which triggers the antenna change on the radio. This doesn't seem like a difficult thing to accomplish but it is for me. Thanks.

If it is not too much trouble
Ron, If it is not too much trouble, could I get a plain and prefix map as well? Centered on EM85wx. The one I am using is not accurate. Thank You Eric 73,, Eric W. Davenport KZ5ED Mobile: 828-467-4335 Email: kz5ed@... 335 Wilson Knob Road Bakersville, NC 28705

Sending test QSOs to the Contest Dashboard...
5
Folks, Do any you know an "easy" way to send simulated QSOs to the contest dashboard? I thought maybe "Rebroadcast al contest QSOs to other apps" in N1MM+ would work to send all the Q's from a log back over UDP, but that did nothing for me. Before I continue to bang my head against a wall or work on other ideas I figured I would ask the hive. Thanks. -- 73 es God Bless de KK1L Ron <>< http://kk1l.com

NodeRed -> KISS -> Direwolf -> HamRadio aprs.fi Telemetry data
6
Bit of a story, but I have a very remote off grid homestead that I need to be able to monitor when I am not there. I have starlink, but when the snow is heavy and covers the dish it doesn't always work. Plus it takes quite a bit of power and again, when the snow covers the panels it can and does fail due to lack of power. Using a Yausu Ft-2980 coupled to a RasberryPi using a digirig, I built a flow that monitors key systems, and send the telemetry data over the air to one of the local digipeaters. No internet required and I can see the data from anywhere. The basic approach is for NodeRed to write the data in APRS formatted files, where the kissutil watches them and sends the packets to direwolf, which then sends them out. It would be easy to cut out the kissutil and send the data directly to direwolf, but it was a lot easier to troubleshoot the packets when I could see them in files. I'd be happy to post the flow or help anyone setup something similar. https://aprs.fi/telemetry/a/KK7CXF-8?range=day has the end results.

Updated WiKi's 2/13/2025
Hi All, - I have updated the Raspberry Pi 64 bit OS install WiKi. - I have moved the .Net ASPcore install info to the FRStack WiKi as it is normally not needed when not using FRStack Web API. - I have also deleted the 32 bit OS WiKi as the minimum requirements we recommend are a Raspberry Pi 3 or newer and all of those support 64 bit OS. Please welcome Kyle, AA0Z as one of our moderators. He will be helping with adding content to the WiKi pages. If anyone has content they would like to contribute, please contact myself or Kyle and we'll get it added. We now have more than 2600 members worldwide. Over the years I have learned a LOT from others in this group and I appreciate people sharing ideas, flows and giving guidance to others. 73 Dave De Coons WO2X on behalf of the administrators
