SmartSDR DX spots - colors and timestamp

Inspired by Alans flow I wanted to show DX spots, band edges and contest areas within SmartSDR. The flow works fine so far, but I have two issues, which I could not solve so far.
Based on the SmartSDR Wiki the spot command supports color setting and timestamp / lifetime for each spot.
- Whatever #AARRGGBB color I use, the spots are always yellow.
- I get the timestamp from the payload of the button and pass it into the spot command. The spot shows a date and time, but that's not the time which results out of the timestamp.

Did anbody else try that before and has some hints for me?

Looks good, Nick

You have some empty space you could fill in. ?

You liked the global selectors, ?Those would fill in some of the empty space of your main dashboard.?

Or......a second monitor?for your PC!

Nice! And I bet it feels very rewarding when you get it going.

I¡¯ve been swamped this week with a lot of stuff going on. 3 doctors spots next two days and haven¡¯t moved the amp into its permanent place or had time for Node Red . Hopefully by Monday I will slow down...

In the files section under my call there is a readme file which outlines nodes needed for my flows. Those nodes were not installed. The file also includes instructions on how to install the nodes.

In the first example, it appears you are not hitting the "Deploy" button after you make a change.

In the second example, you have missing "Nodes". ?Node-Red does not install the "Dashboard" nodes, so you need to add them.

Go to the pull down on the upper right, select "Manage Pallet". ?On the "Install Side", enter a search name for the missing pallets, in this case "dashboard". ?You will see a section below. ?In your example, select the "node-red-dashboard" and hit "install". ?Be careful not to select the "cn-dashboard-nodes"

As you import new flows, Node-Red may say you have additional missing Nodes. ?Make a note of their name and add them in the same manor.

Re: How to reset Node Red

Your not alone , Right side dashboard, nodes etc. click on the shaded node and delete, export your good node and save it .
I am still new . I have my dashboard going with the 6600 FRS , I just can¡¯t talk to my amp and sda100 controller through NR , the FRS program I can control the amp and sda100 no problem.
I am teachable today:)

How to reset Node Red

I just started playing with NR and I have managed to get stuck. I was trying to import some sample flows to see how they worked and even though I have deleted everything except a simple inject->debug node I get an error that say I have "node not deployed". If I make a change to the inject node and try to deploy I get further errors that say "Flows stopped due to missing node types" (ui_group, ui_tab). These nodes nodes are not in the simple flow. I am assuming that some of the stuff I imported had these nodes.?

At this point I would like to just start over! Do I need to reload NR?
Thanks,
Mark

You should have the file called allflows with the date when we did the alNtronix flow. That should be a good starting point for you.?

I recommend a Pi. You can clone the microSD card and also enable Projects to keep your production stuff intact when working on mew flows.?

Oh....sorry, I forgot the SteppIR.

Follow the same instructions, except, select the SteppIR tabs, COM port and "view".

Re: Help with Modified MKCM SPE Amp.json

Nick

As I recall, we previously set your system up with Node-Red FRStack both on the same Raspberry Pi.

Now, you seem to desire to set up both Node-Red and FRStack on the same Windows PC.....correct?

So far, you have Node-Red installed on the Windows PC and you have FRStack installed on the Windows PC....correct?

In the Node-Red connection flow, you have entered "127.0.0.1:13522/api" into the "Set Parameters Here" node....correct?

Note: since both Node-Red and FRStack are on the same device, you can use either the "loopback" IP address (127.0.0.1) or you can use "localhost". ? 13522 is the port number for Windows FRStack and "/api" adjusts for the differences in REST command structure for Windows vs Raspberry Pi FRStack REST commands.

Now, to set up your SPE amp connection. ?Recall in Raspberry Pi FRStack, we modified the "appsettings.json" file. ?In Windows FRStack, the SPE amp settings are changed using the Windows Desktop FRStack Interface.

Move the USB cable now connecting the SPE amp to your Raspberry Pi to your Windows PC.

We must now get the "COM" number used by the cable. ?Open up "Device Manager". ?Look for "Ports and COM" and expand the list. ? Look for the USB cable you just plugged in and note the "COM" port that windows assigned to it. ?If you are not certain of the cable, unplug it and note which cable disappears from the list. ?Plug the cable back in....thats the COM port you will need.

We will enter the COM port into FRStack later, so for now, just remember what it is.

Double click on the Windows FRStack Application icon to start the application. ?Here is a screenshot of mine:

There is a "Client Chooser" pulldown in the upper left. ?If you have multiple clients, select the client you want FRStack to bind too.

Then, click on "View" pulldown. ?At the bottom of the pull down, select "Options"

In the "Options" window, select the "SPE" tab. (your tabs may be in a different order)

Configure the SPE amp settings as you want. ?Be sure to select the port number your SPE USB cable is using. ?This is the SPE Cable COM port you got from the Device Manager earlier:

Click OK.

You should now be all set up to use your Node-Red SPE amp dashboard.

Another nice feature, is you can also use the FRStack Windows interface for the SPE amp. ?You can also use the Node-Red Dashboard at the same time.

Back on the main FRStack Window desktop interface, select the pulldown, " View". ? Select "SPE Window". ?You will now see the FRStack Windows Desktop SPE control window:

We need someone running FRStack and Node Red on a PC to write a WiKi exclusively for that configuration.

I use a Pi 4 so not much help with Windoze version of NR.

Off to the land of the Little Brown Trucks (UPS) to pick up my Power Genius XL.

You know what I will be doing today....

OK, I mis-understood.

Now, for Windows Node-Red.? Here is a link to the install instructions.

First, you need to install Node.js.? Click on the link in the instructions.? From that website, you can download and install Node.js.? Do not install the optional tools.

Screen Shot 2021-03-29 at 6.43.05 PM.png

Next, from the CMD prompt, ?install and run?Node-Red.? The install command will run a script and do the complete install:

You do not need to make anything for Windows FRStack install.

Go to the MKCM Software web site:

Select the link for Windows FRStack:

Click the link to download Windows FRStack:

In your downloads folder, double click on the "FRStack3Setup (1)" file.

FRStack will do the rest. ?Just watch it install. ?It will ask you questions as it installs itself. ?You will have to tell windows to "keep" the file and allow FRStack ?to select the default file directory and make a desktop shortcut, if you like.

mkdir foldername

You might need to create the folders one at a time, top down if they don't already exist.

Re: Node - Red windows 10

I run Node-RED on a Windows PC and really (really) don't like hiding the command prompt that it runs in as there is often a great deal of helpful information in there that does not show up in the debug tab.

I also had a lot of trouble running it automatically?in an open (but minified) cmd box.
At some stage I found this program and have been more than happy with it for the 5 or so years I have been using it.

It starts on boot and about 15 seconds later will start Node-RED.
It will also restart Node-RED on a crash (rare, but I must (MUST) have it restart if I am not around).

If you want to use Windows as a production platform for Node-RED, you will want to have a Windows Task Scheduler job set up. To do so:
