Re: Off-topic: Powering Pi with a linear supply
Look on Amazon and they have some quite RF noise wise 12-24v input 5V buck boost power converters though these are a type of switching supply You can buy these at different output currents and I would go with as big as you will ever need I have 4 Pi’s on one of these units and runs great, buy some fair quality USB to USB C cables for the Raspberry pi4 and USB TO MICRO USB cables for the older Pi’s and Tablets. CUT The USB connector off the cables and connect the Reds together and the Blacks together and connect them to the Buck booster.? They also make some that go from 12V to 19volt that I run my NUC computers, Ethernet Routers and Computer Monitors from.? All from my Station Power supply. Works slick and all battery backed up. 73 Bret WX7Y? I am considering a quest to remove wall warts from my shack. Has anyone come up with a good way to power a Raspberry Pi with a linear (i.e., non-switching) supply? I was thinking to use my station linear supply and down convert to 5V. --

开云体育You’re welcome! Glad it is working.?I am going to look at K6HN’s KPA500 flow either tomorrow or Tuesday to zero the meters.? Thanks, Dave. Great video and Wiki beginner’s guide. ?Both have been very helpful getting me up to speed. ?Yesterday I used the Wiki to get the software installed and today I’ve downloaded and installed your VITA49 and FlexRadio flows. ?Everything is working great along with K6HN’s KPA500 flow which I think you may have had a hand in also. So, again, a big thanks!

Re: Zeroing meters when rig or amp off (eg. KPA500, Flex)
开云体育The difference is how the KPA500 and 1500 power off. I have to see how the 500 does it as that is the trigger to zero the meters.?I will not be able to get to this until the earliest tomorrow. I am heading into the hospital in a few.? 73 Dave wo2x Sent from my waxed string and tin cans.? On Jan 31, 2021, at 8:01 AM, Charlie Rubenstein <charlier@...> wrote:

Re: Zeroing meters when rig or amp off (eg. KPA500, Flex)
I bet whatever you did with the KPA1500 will transfer well to the KPA500 too.

Additional note with my updated KPA1500 flow
One other thing I added to my KPA1500 flow is when you click the off button the amp does not shut off until the temperature drops to 38c or lower. This allows me to shut down the amp without waiting for it to cool down. Fans will remain on and once it reaches 38c the fans shut off and amp shuts off. Not so much for the LDMOS devices but more for the other components in the amp.
Maybe not necessary but was easy enough to do ;-) 73 Dave wo2x |

Re: Zeroing meters when rig or amp off (eg. KPA500, Flex)
开云体育I do not have a KPA500 to test with. I can try to update an existing flow with the same “logic” I used on the KPA1500.Dave On Jan 30, 2021, at 10:16 PM, Charlie Rubenstein <charlier@...> wrote:

Sounds great Dave....I spent 2 hours today watching the YouTube video. It was great.
Are you gonna be updating the KPA500 / KAT500 flow too? That's what I'm getting. Charlie KB8CR |
Re: Updated flows by WO2X = VITA49, FlexRadio, KPA1500 and PSTRotatorAZ
开云体育You’re welcome.?Please read the comment nodes in the flows by double clicking them to read comments. The VITA49 flow needs the ping node changed to the IP of your radio. That is the node that says 6600m. In the FlexRadio flow change the IP of the TCP node to your radio.? I had considered making setting the IP automatic but since you can have more than one radio on the network I decided to leave setting the IP address manually. I know you are new to Node Red. Let me know if you have questions. 73 Dave wo2x On Jan 30, 2021, at 8:22 PM, Dwayne Sinclair via groups.io <Dwayne_sinclair@...> wrote:

Updated flows by WO2X = VITA49, FlexRadio, KPA1500 and PSTRotatorAZ
开云体育Hi All, ? I have updated the following flows: ? VITA49v5 & FlexRadiov5 – These two flows must be used together. I have zipped them into a single file and uploaded them to my file area. Meters are zeroed and client info removed when last client disconnects. Radio info clears when radio powered down. ? KPA1500v2 – meters are set to zero when amp is off. ? PSTRotatorAZ – Updated rotor flow to talk to PSTRotatorAZ UDP server. It incorporates Tormod’s Azimuth map. ? ? ? 73 Dave wo2x ? ? |

Re: Zeroing meters when rig or amp off (eg. KPA500, Flex)
开云体育That is exactly what my updated Flex Radio and VITA 49 flows do. When there is no client connected Node Red sets the meters to zero. Note – when disconnecting a client it may take up to a minute before the temperature meter actually goes to zero. ? I also do the same for my Elecraft KPA1500 flow. ? I am uploading the new VITA40v5, FlexRadiov5, and KPA1500 flows to the file section now. The VITA49 and FlexRadio flows need to be used together So I am zipping them as a single file. The new flows will detect the proper model of radio along with the software version and set meters appropriately. NOTE – There is no fan speed internal meter on the 6300/6500/6700 models as they use 4 fans (2 different style fans) while the 6400/6600 uses a single fan. ? Enjoy! Feedback is appreciated. ? 73 Dave wo2x ? ? From: [email protected] <[email protected]> On Behalf Of K6HN Gary

Re: Zeroing meters when rig or amp off (eg. KPA500, Flex)
Thanks, Alan......the left pane is the one you helped me make. It's working great when the rig is on.? I imported Dave's KPA500 and KAT500 flows, but haven't gotten the amp and tuner just yet (although the "administration" has ok'd it). Next phase for me is to figure out how to add sliders to set power out and maybe other things.

Charlie I know for sure that Dave, WO2X, is almost ready to release a new version of the VITA49 and Flex API flow that will "zero" the meters. Alan WA9WUD |
