Re: Shelly Devices & MQTT

Never mind, I see someone made and updates a node specific to Shelly devices, but they still don't make this stuff easy.? Getting things figured out.??

Shelly Devices & MQTT

Cool little devices for home automation and relays, pain the butt trying to get them to turn on/off via MQTT.? The documentation on the Shelly website is not correct.
?
Does anybody have a Shelly device and is controlling it via MQTT?? I just got a Shelly Plus 1 to play around with and not having any luck turning the relay off/on via MQTT.? I can see it in MQTT explorer...just can't turn the relay off/on.? I'm sure it's something dumb...

Here is the flow. ?It's not mine I borrowed it directly from the file section. ?Minus me putting in my serial port. ?Odd the KPA flow has no issues but some reason it's just the "toggle" part to switch my antenna's ports. ?

Re: Tailscale-help?

Hi Pat

Yes I can access everything on the web I need including my 2 NodeRed servers via Tailscale, even using MagicDNS I cannot get any further, thank you for the tip.

It must be something with Wavelog that doesn’t like it.

Interesting.?

This is hard because you are doing it from a phone which doesn't have good tooling for debugging.

When you have tailscale enabled on your phone can you go to other web sites?

Do you have a custom DNS setup in tailscale??? Try disabling magicDNS.

I will have to charge my iPad to see if I can replicate.

Hi Pat

Thank you for the reply

Here’s a screenshot of where I get to, this is where I would login to Wavelog, however when entering my user name/password it will just got to a webpage that says ‘safari can’t open this page because the iPhone is not connected to the internet’ which it is.

I can access Wavelog locally without issue.

Wavelog is a self hosted logging app.

I have tried with other browsers to no avail.

Not much info to go on but I can try.

You mention cloudlog, is it using your credentials to authenticate via cloudlog and perhaps can't reach that server?

What does a web developer tool/network monitor request stream show in your browser?

I have Tailscale up and running and I am able to login to my Nodered red servers, however I have a separate pi setup for Wavelog (CloudLog) I am able to get to the login page and enter my credentials but then it fails, the credentials are correct, any tips would be much appreciated.

Alan,

Does Hamdb use actual AZ or center of country? N1MM+ uses center of country.?

I could incorporate your Hamdb flow into the RT21 flow so you would have the option of manual or tracking for rotor. That way you don’t always have antennas turn on every lookup.?

I use smart SDR for Mac for my flex, and TS-control for my Kenwood ts-890, both written by the same author, and in my perfect world, I’d like to use Dave’s flow to manually enter a callsign, have it find out the bearing of the callsign from my location turn the rotor toward that heading, and then I’ll log it manually. ?I just can’t work out how to get that flow to talk to this app that resides on either my MacBook Pro, or MacBook Air depending on whether I’m traveling or not. ?I do have Tailscale working, and wow, what a neat way to access your flows when you are away from the shack. ?

Attached is a simple flow to enter a call sign, and to return bearing and distance. ? It does a lookup from hamdb.ord, and uses the lookup to calculate bearing and distance. ?No account setup is necessary.
