Re: Dashboard Design Issue - Spacing

Q -?I'm assuming there is no way to put spacers between the groups on the first row so the 2nd row lines up?

Make a new "Tab/Group". ?Put a button into the group. ?Size the button as desired for the space you want. ?In the button config, under the background config box, add a "color" of choice.

Insert in the Dashboard panel where you need a space.

Re: Dashboard Design Issue - Spacing

Moving the disabled node to a "holding pin" did it.??

I don't have that 2nd row problem anymore, but will as soon as I get my KAT500 flow working.? I've noticed that on the 2nd row, if you don't have a group that is the same size as the group above it, the lower group overlaps the next group and doesn't shift it's self properly.??

You almost need to play with the way the groups are positioned on the first row to get your 2nd row to line up so it doesn't overlap anything on the first row.? I'm assuming there is no way to put spacers between the groups on the first row so the 2nd row lines up?

I've tried re-positioning the meters and they move back, I'm assuming because of the disabled nodes taking up space.? I'll put those in that holding pin to remove them from the screen to see if that works.

Still playing around how to stack a 2nd level on the dashboard without it doing weird things.? Maybe if I solve this single issue, it will solve the other.

I would recommend using the Raspberry Pi, just to not cause any unintended problems with the Windows machine.

Hi all

I am trying to gauge interest if I host a Zoom session to demonstrate the next steps after building a Node Red Pi from the WiKi. I would show how to load additional nodes, load a few flows and configure them specific to your Flex radio, and rearranging and customizing the dashboard.

I can also show some basics on how I parse data from an input and build a simple flow to show the concepts. Zoom is limited to a free 40 minute session so I would not try to put too much info in (no information overload).

The question would be a time that is convenient. I am in New Jersey (U.S. Eastern time (UTC -5:00).

Please let me know if this is of interest.

The goal is to encourage users to get started tinkering with Node Red.

Re: Interest in Zoom presentation on loading nodes, flows and dashboard customizations?

This is a great idea.? In fact, a series of meetings might be an add-on to this idea.? Starting with basics and progressing.? Maybe folks that have already done some work would like to share. I know there is a wealth of information on this group but being able to interact real-time is so much more helpful (to me at least)..? ?I have been using NR for a couple of years but only basic integration with my Flex.? I have been more oriented toward writing Python programs to work with the Flex but would like to learn more about NR and Flex.. I am in your time zone so anything you pick will work for me.? Thanks for thinking about this.

Re: Interest in Zoom presentation on loading nodes, flows and dashboard customizations?

I'm totally on board with the idea!, I also have a Zoom Account if needed, like someone mentioned. Also I can upload the recording to my Youtube channel and varios social media as well.

I'm in.

Re: Dashboard Design Issue - Spacing

Disabled Nodes

Yes, it is a pain because the disabled nodes continue to appear on the layout tool.? My "workaround" was to add a new dashboard "tab/group" as a "holding pen" to move disabled dashboard nodes.? That gets them off the dashboard of interest.

or, delete the disabled nodes.

To adjust the position?of groups on the dashboard, in the dashboard panel, drag the group up or down to re-arrange as they appear on the dashboard.? Since the order will also change with web browser sizing, the order will be unique to that size dashboard.

Since I disabled the sensor buttons, I'm not able to remove the disabled buttons from the layout or I'd scale down the width to 3 or 4 units to force the meters in a vertical stack.? Guess the question is how do I remove the button from the layout.? Not sure why it's showing up since I disabled the button in the flow it's still showing up?

2) My Flex Meters section is overlapping with the Flex Radio group.? How do I position these sections better with more control on where they land on the dashboard when there is a 2nd row?
