Re: NodeRed Dashboard Setup & NAQP SSB Contesting

Kyle

For accessing my Pi from off-site, I have closed the ports on my router to be safe and now use "Tailscale" to set up a tunnel.? Works nice.? And free, for one user.? Available for all platforms.

Perhaps it would fit your needs also.

Also wanted to add, this was all remote.? I live in St. Louis MO on a 30x100 lot with no room for antennas and a TON of RF noise.? I can touch my neighbors house while touching mine....so finding RF noise is like playing whack a mole.? Most bands it's an S9 all the time.

My remote Flex station is about 60 miles north of my house at my parents QTH with a 1/2 acre.? They are snow birds and go to FL for the winter.? While in FL they put their internet on "vacation" mode which drops the bandwidth down to 2Mbs up and 1Mbs down.? Charter in the area uses this backwards asymmetrical setup because typical users in a vacation mode are uploading video cams and other monitoring devices while away from the house.

I put the Maestro in "low bandwidth mode" and it works great.? I run NodeRed on a Pi at the QTH and SSH into the Pi from my home.? I then forward ports through the SSH tunnel from the Pi and bring up the dashboard local at the house.
