NanoVNA and PC.

I am a rookie in Nanovna but not in electronic and computer skills. I am 45 years old radioamateur.
My problem is that my NanoVNA-H4 with original firmware of 20200221 works perfectly with all PC applications, but when I update it with the latest Dislord Nanovna-H4_20211121 firmware, it stops working with PC programs. I'm using W-10 64 Bits. It is normal?. Any solution?. Up to what version can I go up without losing that possibility? Very grateful in advance. Antonio - EA7HJ |

I have DiSlord's latest FW in my H and it is working fine with PC software.

I check NanoVNA Sharp MOD v3
/g/nanovna-users/message/5406 This very old software, and can work if on device selected 101 points (STIMULUS->SWEEP POINTS->101) This problem also related to NanoVNAPartner, need set 101 point (all old software hardware coded and use 101 points) |

Having your device connect with DefuseDemo when it is in DFU mode is not the same as in normal running mode - there are 2 different drivers.

In the absence of solutions I have returned to the original Firmware. With it I can manage my NanoVNA from the PC with the usual software (NanoVNA-App, NanoVNA-Sharp, NanoVNA-Server).

you have not said what model of Nano you have. Are you able to talk to the Nano through a termial program like Teraterm or Putty when it is connected to the PC? Please install this version of firmware for your H4: /g/nanovna-users/files/Dislord%27s%20Nanovna%20-H%20Firmware/NanoVNA%20v1.0.69%20fw%20pack.zip Unzip and ONLY use the _H4_ DFU file. Verify you can talk to the command console through a terminal program on your PC before trying to use any of the Nano PC apps. I'm sorry, but after trying everything, I give up. 1) installed the firmware version that you indicate to me (V1.0.69), also v1.0.71 and V1.1. 2) Uninstalling all software and controllers on the PC. 3) I make a clean installation of VCP_V1.5.0_SETUP_W8_X64_64BITS.EXE and DFUSE_DEMO_V3.0.6_SETUP.EXE. 4) Terratem installation. (The nanovna is connected and disconnected from the terminal, as well as Teraterm perfectly recognizes the serial port with the installed driver STMicroelectronic). 5) Nanovna-App works in DFU mode, he installed the different firmware, but it does not recognize the Nanovna in serial port mode. 6) Back to original firmware V.0.5.0 and everything returns to normal. My last suggestion is to try to remove all references to the STM drivers and use USBDview to reset the USB devices associated with the STM drivers, then reboot and re-install. It's stuff like this is why I got out of being a SysAdmin and went back into electronics ;-) Maybe another forum member can help you with this going forward....... Good luck!
