Re: Cable Fault Detection
If you turn on Transform and select Low Pass Impulse you are in "TDR mode". You need to set trace to "Real" and then you will see the difference between a short and an open. Roger

Cable Fault Detection
I realize this is similar to a recent topic but a bit different. As the "TDR" function in the nanovan is not actually a time-domain process, is there a wat to differentiate between a short or open

Re: #measurement - Torroid #measurement
43 or 31 material are appropriate for HF applications. 43 is better for 20-meters upward and 31 material is best for 160 through 40 meters. If you are sure you have 43 material, there really is no

That is exactly what I do with my own software, but I then have to ask users not to overwrite and files they have personalise. You can't win! 73, David GM8ARV -- SatSignal Software - Quality software

Re: Wish list of future features for nanovna
Now there is a GREAT suggestion for the Nanovna, add a firmware update option to the PC Saver program!! This way we have an ¡°all in one¡± application to use and manage the nano. -- Regards, Chris

Strange, yes, but personally I prefer it that way, so that you know exactly what is being added to your computer rather than a massive install.exe with no idea what it contains! 73, David GM8ARV --

Did you check it with an ohmmeter? BTW, I noticed in the first picture that you're using/reading S21. Is that correct? And "Transform" was set to "OFF". (but maybe you changed that after taking the

Re: Coax length and defect identification
The Nano's TDR function can show 'defect' location - even multiple "feature" locations. It shows distance in meters. You move the cursor to the "odd spot" in the trace, and read the distance to there.

Fran?ois, Gyula has already pointed you to the group (thanks). The newer and more capable TinySA Ultra has a "4-inch" screen which is adequate (for me) for many things, but there is a TinySA program
