Different NanoVNAs already have different housings, or even no housing.

The only thing in common are that it's a VNA and it's relatively inexpensive.
Really? You're asserting that the firmware, UI, means of operation, performance characteristics, interfaces, etc. are unrelated, except to the limited extent shared by all VNAs?

Litevna is a trademarked name as is nanovna.
No doubt, but NanoVNA has pretty obviously become generic by virtue of uncoordinated and uncontested use by multiple manufacturers and vendors. Indeed, I applaud a manufacturer taking the initiative to select and use a distinguishing name instead of trading on the generic term.

They're not related
As above, I'd suggest that the LiteVNA is well within the existing range of variability for NanoVNAs.

What benefit do you see in sustaining the position that the LiteVNA somehow isn't a NanoVNA?

machined housing?
LiteVNA has the same plastic case as Nano, judging by the images.
Were you thinking of LibreVNA?

What distinction are you making? The LiteVNA has only just appeared so

variant. Do you have reason to believe that it's not?

Hello, I associate the NanoVNA with the LiteVNA for the form, circuit, interface, the difference is the frequency range, the other political or commercial difference I live to other,
for me they hare people to make device for the electronics community and I appreciate all.
If you have noted more technical difference please tell the forum to give all more information.

Hi Anthony,
This is the support group primarily for the original version of the
NanoVNA, H & H4 devices but members have a mix of the various devices and

Also - please search the forum messages - there is a lot of info. I wrote
a how to search doc that is the 1st link in the Wiki. The trick is to start
wide and narrow down the search terms - and don't give up after 2 searches.

20 or so messages back there are 2 links to the SAA support groups.

Re: Nanovna

Heh, you've noticed the unfortunate fact that multiple manufacturers are using the same name for their similar products, apparently to trade on the popularity of the NanoVNA name after the originator ceased being involved, and who are therefore left having to decry each other's ethics, existence, etc.. This should probably be an FAQ somewhere, but you might find the summary at /g/nanovna-users/wiki#Hardware-versions somewhat helpful.

(cue a lengthy thread in which the players reiterate how awful their competitors are)

Do you know which has the correct information or am I missing something. I
did purchase the SAA 2N unit from R&L. Also I will point out that I did a
firmware upgrade with NanoVNA 1.0.69 package. There are seven files in the
package. I first tried V2Plus but that seemed very erratic. I then
flashed V2 480x320 v 1.0.69 and that works fine. It did add much more in
the selections in the flowchart than what came out of the box at R&L. Not
to say there was anything wrong with it, but the newer firmware had more. I
can also see the data on my PC using NanoVNA-QT, which I guess is expected.
The next thing is to see how well it performs in certain functions. Remains
to be seen.

Re: Connecting To Win 10 Machine

Larry,

I was able to connect on Win 10 using NanoVNA-QT and the appropriate drive
by Cypress.

connect to my PC using a number of different help files. None of which
worked. There are a number of missalignments to what the help files say to
do and what is actually appearing.

For starters, the drivers were installed without any errors. This was
confirmed by the Device Manager display not indicating a yellow triangle.
When the VNA is connected to the USB port, it shows up as being on Com 8,
specifically USB Serial Device (COM8).

Second, the help file says to enter DFU mode by the following path (per
flow chart) "Config" > "DFU". That path does not exist in my unit. My
best guess is to enter "Config" > "Bootload" but I can not verify this as
it is not in the help file. Can someone confirm this?

Next, when in the bootload screen, the DfuSe v3.0.6 still does not see the
VNA. Also I will point out that there is no listing in the Device Manager
saying STM Device in DFU Mode, yet the drivers installed correctly. When I
try to reinstall the drivers, Windows says the best drivers are already
installed.

Next, when looking at the Version screen, there is no Version listed. It
just says Version:
Underneath Version is shows a Build Time of June 9 2021 -17:36:19

So is there a help file that I am missing? I appreciate if anyone can
clarify this procedure.

Thanks!

Re: Nanovna

Walter, et al,

Both pages seem to contradict each other. This page
says the following:

*Official stores:*

- *Official store on Tindie*
<>
- *Official store on Taobao (NanoVNA V2 Ψһ¹Ù·½ÌÔ±¦µê)*
<>

*The following stores are selling illegal clones.*

*The clones sold by these vendors do not have permission from the original
developers and are violating the non-commercial license of the design
(CC-BY-NC-SA).*

- *Banggood*
- *R&L electronics - still selling clones despite being asked not to
by the original developers*

*Important: Zeenko is selling S-A-A-2 based designs without permission and
in violation of our non-commercial license, with exaggerated
specifications. The original V2_2 design was open sourced to help hobbyists
learn, but Zeenko's actions force us to close source later designs
<>. Please reconsider supporting
this vendor.*

The page you reference says:

*Buy a NanoVNA*

*Europe Eleshop B.V. <>*

*Europe Passion Radio
<>*

*North America Nooelec
<>*

*USA R&L Electronics
<>*

*USA GigaParts <>*

*Japan Switch Science
<>*

*India Fab.to.Lab
<>*

*For platforms such as Amazon or AliExpress, please buy directly through
the store provided by the link. Other advertising links on the platform may
sell bad clones.*

*Amazon*

*AURSINC <>*

*AliExpress*

*Zeenko <>*

* <>*

Remains
to be seen.

That's what I just did , and bought H4 from R&L Electronics. (Ordered via
