Re: Trouble calibrating NanoVna Classic after upgrade to 1.2.20
I wanted to close the loop on this lest I misled someone. I couldn't let go of the feeling I was just doing something silly, so I tried one final time to upgrade my Classic NanoVna with the latest

Re: NanoVNA-H4 with faulty screen ?
Regarding the card slot, if the hardware is there, all you need to do is use a craft knife and carefully carve a little opening for it in the side of the plastic case. Then use a micro SD card that is

Re: NanoVNA-H4 with faulty screen ?
You might want to take another really good look for the card slot... It's there on mine so it should be there on yours... Yes, it can be used!

Re: NanoVNA-H4 with faulty screen ?
BTW, I noticed it have a card slot that isn't visible from the outside, can the card be used ? I saw some storage settings in the menu.

Re: NanoVNA-H4 with faulty screen ?
Nope, I opened it and that made no difference. It's no big deal but had I understand that it was a fault when it was delivered ,I had notified Amazon and Nooelec for a replacement. I looked on

Re: NanoVNA-H v3.4 High S21 noise above threshold frequency after updating to 1.2.14 FW by hugen79
You can try changing the changeover frequency - some of the synthesizer chips can¡¯t quite get to 300.

Re: NanoVNA-H4 with faulty screen ?
So I could verify i that is the cause by opening the case ?

This is happening near the 300 MHz point. This is the point where they go from using the fundamental frequency of the RF source to using the harmonic to get higher frequency operation. Could be linked

Re: NanoVNA-H4 with faulty screen ?
ljn geo; Some of the early H4s had the case touching the edge of the touch screen. I added some m3 plastic washers to mine and the problem went away. 73 de Russ, va3rr

NanoVNA-H4 with faulty screen ?
My H4 which I bought in 2021 from Nooelec has some lines on the left side on the display. I think they where there from the start, is the display bad ?

Unfortunately I don't have a copy of the original firmware that was on the device.

Re: NanoVNA-H v3.4 High S21 noise above threshold frequency after updating to 1.2.14 FW by hugen79
In some ways this is a good sign, since there were not specific firmware changes that should affect the noise above threshold in any recent version (at least none that I am aware of). Perhaps a good

Re: NanoVNA-H v3.4 High S21 noise above threshold frequency after updating to 1.2.14 FW by hugen79
Also just tried jumping all the way to V1.0.38 by DiSlord, still the same behavior. Pretty stumped by this.

Re: NanoVNA-H v3.4 High S21 noise above threshold frequency after updating to 1.2.14 FW by hugen79
Just tried updating to 1.2.20 by DiSlord, same behavior unfortunately. low S21 noise floor (around -80dB) until it reaches the threshold frequency then it jumps to -50dB.

Here are the last versions from app folder... for H: https://github.com/DiSlord/NanoVNA-App/blob/main/NanoVNA%20H%20v1.2.24.dfu and for H4:

Try the most recent dislord full release v1.2.20. I'm not sure if it will solve your problem, but we can hope. Make sure to choose the correct file for your device (H or H4). (Some will say there are

Thank you for your quick reply! I do have a V3.4 but I can give his most recent release a try or would you recommend an earlier version?

Also check in Config -> Expert Settings that mode is set correctly for your device, SI or MS Sometimes it seems after a new firmware update that setting needs corrected.
