Re: Nanovna H4 very slow sweep speed?

Sweep speed depend from bandwidth.
You can see this setting in middle of frequency range at bottom
"bw: XXXXHz 101p"
Lower XXXXHz value - more slow sweep time

For select use DISPLAY->BANDWIDTH (default 1000Hz, more faster 4000Hz), this option stored in config, so after need save it in CONFIG->SAVE

Hugen,

Thanks for the clarification.

Try updating the firmware and if the problem is not solved, provide a photo of the main screen.

Nanovna H4 very slow sweep speed?

I just got a nanovna h4 off Amazon with good reviews (seller HUAIFANGPING)

It seems to sweep very slow (about 8 seconds a sweep). Every time I adjust the antenna, it takes about 8 seconds to see the trace refreshed and the SWR updated.
Is this normal for the h4 or do I have a dud? Online videos show much much faster sweep speeds on other nanovnas...

Thanks!

Re: NanoVNA and PC.

Does this Hugen releasae include the enhancements DiSlord released earlier today as DiSlord v1.1 beta 1?

DiSlord Update to v1.1 beta 1:
- Init i2c bus devices on low speed, change on max speed after (i hope this allow fix problem vs hang on first power on)
- 2x increase wait time for SD carf (also hope this fix errors on old slow cards)
- Add backup feature, this allow save some settings (freq range / points count / jog step / leveler mode / bandwidth / last used slot)
Backup restore settings only for stored on flash slot (not work for RAM calibration data)
By default loaded 0 slot (if no backup enabled / on error / no battery)
- Small ui changes

Divide Expert settings on 2 screens
Added Remember State (enable/disable backup feature) checkbox (need save config after for apply)

I've got an used NanoVNA-F by sysjoint.
It shows:
Version: Firmware 0.1.5
Frequency: 10k to 1,5GHz
Build time: May 17 2020
My questions are: Which version have I got and is there a new firmware out for it?
I've looked at the sysjoint.com page and downloaded the manual, but I see in
the files folder of this group that there are new firmware versions.
Thanks, Alex
Alex,

You have the latest firmware for your Sysjoint -F. Some people have tried using the -F firmware specifically made for the BH5HNU NanoVNA-F but issues have been reported. Attached is a discussion on the topic from Facebook NanoVNA-F group with comments by BH5HNU (Leon Huang).

This has been discussed in the forum messages a number of times - search for sdcard socket or sdcard slot

Re: How about using a USB memory stick instead of an SD card #features

H4 already has the SD card connector on the PCB so no need for a new one.

after bricking it a couple of times and physically abusing, breaking, and
restoring it a couple of times as well, it just keeps getting better¡ and
made new again.

I ordered an H4 from R & L here in the US yesterday; not because I
¡°needed¡± to, but rather out of fear that if what I have breaks again, I
may be without one for awhile. The bigger reason is that my aging eyes will
benefit from the bigger screen, and the new added features keep inspiring
me to use it even more.

I applaud the incredible job at refining the performance and utility that
you¡¯ve been doing, while enhancing and maintaining compatibility with
legacy hardware.

I was surprised to find that coverage now starts at 800 Hz, and also
astounded at its performance in the audio region. It has become the new
¡°multimeter¡± for hams and analog professionals alike. What an incredible
development team!

Tonight I must order an SD card connector for the H4 that is on its way to
me.

If I understand your detailed response to this thread adequately; Putty
should be a sufficient tool for porting and managing SD card data from a PC
via the NanoVNA¡¯s USB interface. Is my understanding correct on this?

OK again say you calibrate it between 7.0 and 7.3 Mhz. and save it to

Now between 7.0 and 7.3 it is calibrated.

But say you temporarily need to look a little wider, say 6 to 8 Mhz.

So you widen the stimulus window.

Now is the 7.0 to 7.3 still calibrated, and the areas out side close but
not?
The NanoVNA can only interpolate between frequency points when you "zoom in". It cannot extrapolate so the answer is NO you cannot "zoom out" and scan from 6 to 8 MHz. if you calibrated from 7 to 7.3 MHz.

The problem with recalling stored Saver calibrations is you have to remember to set the NanoVNA to the same sweep range that you used when you did the Saver calibration. I always leave slot 0 as is and never change it and do all Saver cals using slot 0. That way I can recall saver slots and know they are valid.

Don, Thanks! Actually, I have been using the H4 without any issues. It was only just?recently on the NanoVna Group that I learned the slot existed in the first place. At?some point I am sure it will come in handy.
