Re: how to use TDR in the firmware of the nanovna?

I had suggested this in a post from 2 weeks ago - to grey-out/disable the other on-screen buttons when the transform function is used.
I think I'll have to enter it as an issue on git.

Hello,

And thank you, once more, for your most
valuable contributions !

Well,

(1) regarding the objective requirement
for a distribution of the REGION executable,
allow us, please, to notice the useless result
of such an action, because, once again, this
file is not a standalone program but it constitutes
just the one part of this two-part /F/L/O/S/S/, and

(2) regarding the subjective concerns you most
reasonably expressed about your time, also
allow us, please, to notice that since the personal
taste is the decisive criterion that governs humans'
choices, and since the expediencies of any kind
were never dictated our acts, we are not be able
to the slightest to suggest you what to do in order
to meditate these worries of you.

Finally, since we mostly respect your efforts and
your time you spent to take a look at our humble
work, allow us, please, to conclude our communication
by thanking you, once again, very much!

Sincerely,

Re: Nanovna-Saver with Win 10 and Linux mint

Hi Don,
permission issues I can't really help with - I expect that's a matter of
being root or not, or using sudo or not.

On Windows, I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing crashes. If you
would like to run the program with the parameter "-D logfile.txt" (or
another filename of your choice), you can create a log of debug statements
from the software, so I can see what's going on. Running the software from
a command prompt (cmd.exe) should also allow you to see the final error
message/stack trace - I'd like to have that as well for debugging!

Thanks for trying it out, and for taking the time to report the errors you
are experiencing! :-)

Running nanovna-saver.exe with windows 10 I can connect to the VNA ok but
the program crashes when I start to enter parameters. On occasions if I
enter parameters and connect in a certain order I get results but after a
while when changing things it will crash.
I though I would try it on Linux Mint. The installation went well until I
tried to instal pyqt5. I was unable to do this as it says I don't have

Any advice would be gratefully received.

Re: nanovna Battery Specifications

Alex as you mentioned
1s 400mAh Lipo is 3.7volt

Hi Veen

From what I have seen from some of the adverts with the battery

it is a 1S 400 to 450mah lipo in the flat almost rectangular style.

The advert also identified where you would solder the leads,

so it would pay you to check out some of the advertising on the auction

site for the pictures.

I am awaiting delivery of mine that supposedly has the battery - we will
see.

Carlos can you please let me know the Voltage spec of your 602040
(20x40x6mm) 450mA pouch cell is it 3.7volt or 7.4 volt

Re: how to use TDR in the firmware of the nanovna?

ve2kwg,
Hiroh Satoh's (user "ch045") has written an informal user guide for the NanoVNA in Japanese. Attached is the Google translation of the "Time Domain Operations" section. For cable measurements, enable TDR by using low-pass mode in the time domain. I'm waiting to receive my second nanoVNA before loading the TDR firmware MOD so I haven't actually tried this yet.

that's right, I have found on reading nanovna manual chinese version translated to english.

thank you

Re: NanoVNA Saver

That's probably right; I don't think I compensate for the length of the
through adaptor. I'll have a look at it :-)

Hi Bryan,

The signs on those phase plots have *really* been bothering me. It's one
of the places where it really shows how much of a newbie I am at RF

measurements: I have no idea what way the phase is *supposed* to go, so I
might well end up flipping it ;-)

I think I got it all pointing the same way in the coming version, which is
in a development branch on GitHub. Maybe I'll post a screenshot and have
you (or others) sanity check it before I release!

Thanks for taking the time to report it! Reports like these really help
make the software better.

Re: Experimental 256 point FFT Firmware

In the github master of both

I helped to get the TDR improved and that required the 256 point FFT

Re: Experimental 256 point FFT Firmware

Hi erik,

edy555 and hugen have sources for 256 point FFT Firmware ?

Where is it ? I can not find...

Re: how to use TDR in the firmware of the nanovna?

Not sure but maybe you have to select for the trace "real"

Re: Experimental 256 point FFT Firmware

Both edy555 and hugen

Re: Experimental 256 point FFT Firmware

Any source, if any, of github repository ??
