As yet I've had no issue with the current USB connector used... but its
small and fragile. On another piece of gear I've had issues with the mini
and micro USB connectors and finally removed it with care and replaced
it using a USB-B connector which while larger is robust and the
interconnect wires were short #30 wire wrap wires.
It is my plan for this unit once I make a suitable case to make that
change proactively. USB being a 4 wire plus ground its a trivial
change other than small (something I am used to). I tend to make
mods based on making it more robust in use.
