Not according to the Wiki. So here goes. 1. My H4 was stuck in DFU mode for several months after my first attempt. 2. I could not find the Device Manager on my PC. 3. I started looking a DFU_Util download information not related to Nano-VNA and got a reference to a Microsoft up date on Design Tools. SO I downloaded the MS update AND The Device Manager showed up and showed my Nano as unreadable. Back and forth, reboot the PC, connect and disconnect the Nano, find a different cable. Bought a new cable. Reading the Wiki and the Absolute Beginners Guide as noted. Finally I tried starting with the Nano (stuck in DFU mode) unconnected and turned off. I connected the device. Brought up the Device Manager and turned the device on. There it is. Not recognized but it is finally there. So I turned the device off. Closed the device Manager. Then I opened the DFU_Demo. Turned the Nano on and opened the Device Manager. And the Nano was recognized. Closed the Device Manager and there is was in the proper place in the DFU Demo. Upload the FW on the Nano to a File. Update the device from a file via the Google Drive listed in the Files section. RAR v1.0.26.rar. Expanded it contains 4 files. After reading the names a few times; there are 2 for the H model and 2 for the H4. So which one. Names are the same except ending in LSE.dfu and LSI.dfu. Tried the LSE and everything went fine successful upgrade. But the nano would not come on as expected. So start over and tried the LSI.dfu file. Same thing with success noted in the dfu_demo app. And it operated as expected when I turned it on. Conclusions: 1 The device can be in DFU mode. The directions say plug in and turn on. So Start with it off and turn it on when plugged in. 2. If you can¡¯t see the device manager, fix that. 3. The wiki, and the guide need to note which files to use after the archive download is expanded. Or at least a note to try one then the other. So a huge thank you to all that have provided constructive input on the ins and outs of this device. And the pointers to my last request, responses on the thread and especially to the several members that replied with info offlist. 73 de KE0ZUW John On Oct 24, 2021, at 10:40 AM, Larry Rothman <nlroth@...> wrote: |
