Re: North end

you won't try the snowmobile? Near as I can tell you have more than a mile of unpacked trail left. The good news is that it is in an area where there aren't a lot of conifers, and even the small maples shouldn't be too bad.

Wish we would get some really cold weather...for just a week or so mind you.

No one been in there to my knowledge.....hope to have the whole short loop snowshoed and cleared of small stuff this coming week (about a mile left I think)...also see what if any big deadfalls in there...doubt if I will get to Ruel Harmon outlet next week. Ol Haus

you got the right guy involved there.?

So...has anyone been between Buffalo Lodge and Oconomowoc Junction? then between there and Ruehl Harmon? up and over to Sowl Trailhead and back to the Big Swamp?

Ken,

Went in on North End trail today with sleds & chainsaws. Ronnie Nelson along with me. Poked in at Kromroy path towards engine block. Cleared that deadfall on Kromroy outlet and the big monster tree beyond that. Bunch of small stuff as well. Then sledded in to Big Swamp and turned around back out to Kromroy outlet. Burroughs trailhead to engine block looked dicey so didn¡¯t go in that way.

Then went to back to Burroughs trailhead and sledded in about 1.5 miles the other direction on the trail.

Wet conditions both ways but you can get in there on the sled. Middle mile of the short loop still an unknown...plan to get in there over the next week on ¡®shoes and see what¡¯s going on.

Owe Ronnie some beers!...he took down most of that big monster! Ann went in with us as well with clipper & machete and cleared more small stuff.

Now we just need some cold weather & fresh snow.

Will update after in there next.
