Bizarre Messages behavior

See the attached screenshot from my MacBook. ?Several times recently, when my wife has reacted to a message, with a standard reaction (thumbs up/down, exclamation, etc), it shows up on my MacBook app with a message in Dutch. ?(Translation: "reacted to..."). This does not happen on either my iPhone or iPad.
?
Not that this explains anything but my wife is Dutch and frequently communicates in Dutch with friends and family. ?She is a US citizen and has lived here for many years. ?We have both been Apple users for many years also. ?Not a PC or Android anywhere in sight.
?
Also, as additional info, this problem does not appear on any other of the users on the thread.
?

I suspect that your wife has a Dutch keyboard [soft, not physical] jnstallled as an alternate and emoji are mangled.
