Question about delivery of junk mail

开云体育

I am curious. I just received several spam emails, that were addressed to (unique user name)@gmail.com and delivered into my Apple email account Junk folder.?

I have never had a gmail account. I do have an Apple email account that uses?(unique user name) as an Alias. Why was it not rejected by the email server, ?before even getting to the filters, then deposited into the iCloud Junk folder?

Brent??

On my late 2012 Mac mini running?10.15.7?

I'm not sure if the following is what you're seeing. ?My husband has received quite a few phishing emails recently in which his email address was in the cc or bcc lists. ?It's another way of confusing people.

No, that is not it. CC or BCC is old hat and gets deleted if it manages to get to me.?

This had only one recipient, the gmail corruption of one of my Apple email accounts.?

And I’ve had some jerk in Scandinavia enter one of my emails for his rail service account. So the rail service was sending his notifications to me. Like Jim Robertson getting notifications for another Jim Robertson in Scotland, for his groceries. Only Brent does not translate into any other language, and the spelling of my last name looks German, but is a Jewish name from a Slavic country, unless was a corruption during immigrations.?

Sounds like a question that should be directed to Apple’s support folks. At least in my case, they were behaving as intended, but of COURSE they’re doing something wrong if they deliver mail addressed to uniquename@... to your uniquename@... (or some other Apple domain. Of course, it’s also puzzling how the messages even REACHED Apple’s servers in the first place
