USB-C power connector

I am currently going thru a deceased friends electronics to reset them to factory default, and many of his connectors are loose and there are several damaged cables. These are newer than my hardware which doesn’t have any loose connectors.? Brent ? If so, is it still in effect? I bought it refurbished at Other World Computing with a 2 year warranty which expired in November last year. Been considering getting a Macbook Air anyway. Must be time.
