I did exactly that, and the YouTube.app just complained that I was offline. I¡¯m thinking that the ¡°download¡± just retains what I¡¯ve streamed and perhaps makes it available AFTERWARDS, but that it doesn¡¯t download anything faster than actual initial streaming. So, I¡¯ll leave my Mac connected to the internet for 2 hours while I¡¯m away, then see if I can do better on the plane while disconnected from the internet this evening.
