I asked: I think I have solved my problem. I used a 3rd-party tool to delete the Spotlight index, and let it re-index itself overnight. I just tried a few recent failed searches, and now they work. --

I¡¯ve read that Finder uses Spotlight¡¯s index for its searches, so I have no idea as to why those would give different file results, unless Spotlight was in the middle of reindexing. How to Fix

Problem solved
I finally contacted Apple about the problem I was having with my new mac since the upgrade.? It took 6 techs on the chat platform, two days, and over 4 hours. Everything they tried did NOT work.
