Back up #Backup

Update on my problems using CCC to back up to external hard drive. Earlier tried to erase external and it hung computer. Now went back and erased the partition drive. Did so quickly. Then erased the external drive. Did so quickly. Formatted as suggested. Now tried to backup using CCC to the external. Get message that it cannot do that as it has no Mac OS. I have used CCC for some years without a problem. Using disk utility I can¡¯t find anything related to scheme.

find now using firefox browser that i am member of the group and no longer get snap.
?UR which i switched too from recommendations from some in this group has some features i like.? But finding it tends to limit sites i can visit. get SNAP
so switching back to Firefox.

I am not computer expert but have had to use them from late 60's for fourier transform NMR.? I was a research chemist (retired now for 27 years). We were encouraged? to learn Fortran. which i never did.? Few years later at the Unjv where I was a professor took week course in machine language.? Later in the mid 80's a fellow working for got his own desk top computer, a kit from Radio Shack.? Soon the organization got the senior people their own desk computer, IBM using MS/DOS.? The organization had their own e mail system and connections, thru telephone lines or cable to Europe, connection to Paris France where we could print our documents directly on their printers.? This was pre internet.? Later they bought another company which used Mac's which were so much better for graphics so we were allowed to switch.? Been using apple products since,? I have two sons well into computers and software,? One of them has written software for GE radar systems, avionics for Lockeed and Boeing and is now develping software for orion the new space vehicle. He hates apple products and has been forbidden to use them in his work by the companies involved (sole vendor issue). The other uses computers to map human gene changes in various cancers to find approaches for therapy.? Can only use non apple hardware for this as no apple software availble for this.? He has some apple products for home use.

For what it's worth, my 1st gen iPad Pro (large) seems quite happy on the latest public beta. At least, I haven't noticed any show-stoppers, although I certainly don't use everything on it.

Simple answer: anyone can download?anything they care about, either?to keep for themselves (if they don't already?have it, of course), or to upload to the new site. Anything not wanted will disappear by default?when Yahoo deletes it.?

One thing we can now do on is add screenshots, photos etc to our messages. I'm not limiting them however, storage on is limited so when we reach our max they will remove our oldest attachment(s) to make room for the next new one if needed. Just so you know. This storage limitation also applies to files etc that we upload.

I completed the new subscription. I¡¯m mostly a lurker as well. But I find many of the topics very interesting and helpful.

Re: Has anyone upgraded to iPad OS #Upgrading

I upgraded my iPad Air (3rd Generation) and have no problems. There are a few features I like, but it takes a little getting used to learn to use them. I recommend reading about all the features so you see how they work. There is a free Apple iBook that tells how iPadOS works. It's like the manual you didn't get with the update.

Hey, Dave and the team.

This is my first email to the new group to up the moderation status. Thanks to all for moving the group through this change.

Cheers,

Thanks for keeping us linked. I¡¯m using a different email address than previously.

It appears we¡¯ll be able to identify our tools (macOS and iOS) with screenshots now rather than multi-paragraph short stories. Should help us all!
