I have to take more time to look at this, but at a quick glance, it looks amazing! If I am correct, they are giving you the ability to write as if you are writing on the paper, but that actually gets translated into computer format so it is searchable. That is so awesome!

For those who like more details, PRAM Is different from NVRAM. ?The following 2018 article says, ¡°?Modern Macs no longer use PRAM; they instead use something called NVRAM (NV for non-volatile)...¡±. ?I¡¯m not sure what they mean by ¡°modern¡±.

Or, boot with Option Command p r pressed.

If you have a startup chime, keep the 4 keys pressed until you hear the
chime a 2nd time.

Thanks, that is one of the articles that I read. I don¡¯t like the
fact that you have to turn it off again every time you reset VRAM.
So I was trying to get folks opinions on whether this feature is
something to just become acclimated or if it would be a bother.

You can also do the routine maintenance startup routines that have been?
discussed frequently here.?

Zap PRAM
Safe Disk Boot?
SMC reset?
Boot in Recovery and run First Aid?

If I had those symptoms on my MBPro, the first thing I would do is restart with <Shift> held down (Safe Boot).

Let that finish its clean-and-check routines (invisibly), however long that takes, then restart.

I wouldn¡¯t expect zapping the PRAM to accomplish much on. new machine.
And I haven¡¯t found SMC reset to be helpful for quite a few years.

But my *next* step WOULD be Recovery Mode and Disk Utility First Aid.

Yes, I think that is what you would want to happen most of the time. ?And since it boots and shuts down so fast, it would be easy to shut it down in the less frequent situations when you didn¡¯t want it on.

It would seem logical that you wouldn't want your computer on when you were cleaning the keyboard and perhaps the screen. I've found that cleaning the keyboard is best done with the computer off.

It may have been doing something routine for a new computer.

Do another shut down and cold boot and see how long it takes.

It just came back up after another few minutes of waiting. But I¡¯d still like to know what I would do in a case like this and if that long wait time for a restart is a symptom of something I need to look further into.
