Re: Printing from web page produces blank sheet

I print some pages from bank statements from Bank of America Wells Fargo, either with Safari or Chrome. Same blank page. My workaround is to do a screen capture and printing works fine. ?However, I just ran several tests to confirm the problem and it now seems to be printing OK. It has been an issue for months but now appears to work normally. Stay tuned.?

Maybe. The problem is that once every register on your SSD has been filled once (regardless of whether much of it has been marked for erasing and re-use), your SSD will begin to noticably slow down. Since your Mac uses your internal (boot) drive for invisible scratch space, temp files, meta data, databases, etc., your internal drive’s free space gets used even if you meticulously use an external to offload stuff too. If your internal drive is too small, it is going to fill up eventually even if you don’t actually store much on it.

HI Brent,

From the original post:

Here’s the URL. I’d be grateful if a few ‘listas would try to sort out if this is a Safari problem, or a macOS problem, or a printer software compatibility problem:

The replies from Jim S and JR, suggest that there is a compatibility issue with the print and browser settings, extensions and browser that Jim R is using.

That is an assumption on your part. Rick gave no indication. Many of the others mentioned that they were on a recipe site, but Rick did not.

So at that point, if no one else find a similar problem on a different site, my guess would be that the problem is with the site, not the print process.

Since a work around has been offered, you have 3 options:
- use the work around,
- write the site owner to fix the page, or
- flog a dead horse and complain about it.

Hi Jim

I haven’t been able to charge my M2 MacBook Air MagSafe with the USB c port. I tried it a few months ago since I didn’t have a spare MagSafe charging cable for travel but found it wouldn’t charge.?

Didn’t find time to investigate why it wouldn’t work.?

?Now that MagSafe charging ports are back on Apple laptops, I’m wondering whether there’s any difference between using that port vs. one of the TB/USBc ports to charge the computer. Obviously using the MagSafe cable frees up an additional port for data transfer, but does it make any difference to the machine’s health, speed of recharging, or longevity to use the MagSafe port preferentially.

And, compared with its ancestor, I think there might be one additional difference. It’ my impression that the magnet is a bit stronger than was the case with original MagSafe ports, making me wonder if it’s a bit LESS well suited to its primary mission; i.e., reducing risk of a laptop plunge from desk to floor less effectively than did its grandparent.

I tried to print from both Firefox as well as Safari...
and both worked, showing me a preview for printing or save-as PDF
and I could print from a saved PDF as well....

I'm on Mojave OSX10.14.6 on hot rod 2010 MacPro

Your printing ability or the response of the Print button may vary if you have ad blockers, script blockers, or other such pre-filters enabled.
I run NoScript in Firefox and it would not print until I clicked "Trust" daringgourmet.com and reloaded the page.
Safari has my full battery of blockers active and still printed...

No offense intended, Brent, but I’m pretty sure everyone in the thread has had no difficulty understanding that we ARE talking about one single site, and that the active discussion already centers on whether the issue is with the site or the browser. Thus far, it’s unresolved, because SOME people can print from the same site on the same version of macOS and with Safari as the browser.

Rick has confirmed the issue from the same site, albeit with an unknown version of Safari, unknown version of macOS, and unknown hardware.
Madeline has confirmed she’s encountered a similar issue on other sites attempting to print from Safari.

Root cause is as yet unidentified, but solutions have been.

It is going to use the internal SSD for several functions like short term RAM, long before it moves anything off to an external drive.?
