Re: To Catalina or not Catalina #Upgrading

Surely all your ripped (transferred from CD) music will remain in Music > iTunes (or wherever you keep it) after the upgrade? Can someone confirm?

I understand that some applications won’t work as they currently do (have been getting that warning for some time now), but I also understand that I can upgrade some and substitute others. I think I can work around that.

I’ve learned that all of the music I laboriously transferred from CD to iTunes will be gone (only iTunes purchases will transfer), but I mostly use streaming services for music now, so I don’t think that will be too hard to handle.

Here’s my issue: I’ve Googled and checked Canon’s website to see if my MX922 printer will be compatible and I guess I just don’t know enough about what I’m reading to figure it out.

I’ve updated my iPhone Xr and my iPad mini, with no issues. It’s really just the laptop-to-printer I’m worried about.

At this point, I continue to postpone the Catalina install, only because of the printer. Do any of you have a Canon MX922, and does it still work with Catalina?

With groups.io messages, hashtags can be used to categorize messages. What this means to you is if there are. Topics you don’t want. To read you can “mute” the hashtag and the message won’t get sent to you. Also, it lets us merge topics there the same. You can.also filter messages by hashtags so you can read just that hashtag.?

Hashtags are added by adding a # followed by the hashtag. I’ve set up a number of hashtag you may use. If you think any new hashtags, moderators can create or edit hashtags. You can read about hashtags in the help for groups.io at?/static/help#hashtags

What’s with the proliferation of the “#” in the subject line of some posts? Is this now a standard feature of the group message format? Or are some members just fond of the ‘tag?

And thanks for transferring the group from Yahoo to this platform. I’m not a frequent poster, but I’ve learned so much from all of you over the years that I would definitely have missed the group had it been dissolved.

Yes, I am using Apple's Mail.app v 5.3.(1283) for OS X 10.7.5.

I had another list owner point me to a FAQ in groups.io's Help page say it is a issue with DMARC. Anyone got a fix?

Re: Has anyone upgraded to iPad i13

Unfortunately some do have severe issues that they have only been able to resolve by installing the iPadOS 13.2 beta. I’d rather wait a little while, rather than take a chance.

I googled the music and was able to find that if I removed the music app, and I did something else as well that I can not remember, but have not had music since then.

First thing with 13.1 was that when I did hey Siri to make a phone call, it would only do it with speaker phone, and the speaker phone could not be shut off.

I can’t speak for others, but I can’t help here because I never use Siri.

Then with 13.12 ?music would play, even though I have no music on my iPhone, and if the music played while on a call, , the call would be dropped. I managed to fix that on my own.

I can’t reproduce that myself.
I would be interested in knowing what you needed to do to fix this.

The last upgrade has given me a lot of dropped calls. I will be talking to someone, and suddenly, there is no one there.

We (my wife and I) are seeing this some, but usually with some plain explanation.
a) We’re talking to someone who turns out to be driving, and went through a weak-or-no-signal area.
b) We walk through a part of the house that seems to have a much weaker signal than the rest of the house.

Thanks for the link of the iPhone group?

I went and updated my iPhone XS Max as soon as iOS 13 was released (having had my iPad running on some of the betas).
Also 13.0.1 and 13.1 and now 13.1.3 and whatever went in between those.
And I’ve been having no real problems at all.

If you describe your problems here, or perhaps join the iPhone forum at <[email protected]>, perhaps we can help resolve them.

autotext in Office 365-Mac Word2016

I seem to have lost (or lost access to) all my Autotext entries.

I’ve Googled and haven’t found any useful information so far.

I’ve never had any trouble before, and I’m not sure if this happened right after an update or before (I know this isn’t very helpful).

They’ve always worked no matter what template I'm using. I’ve checked the keystroke I assigned and it’s the same. I’ve tried to find them using the pull-down menu and only the Word standard Autotext entries are visible.

I’ve tried a few other tests and found a few random Autotext entries by trying different templates but none of these make any sense.

Does anyone have any clues, please? Where I might look? What I might try? I hope very much I don’t have to recreate all these.

thanks
Julie
