Re: macsupportcentral members

So basically, if you are set to "No Email", you only interact if you are using?the yahoo web site, so you have to manually join in . I think that people who regularly use more than one email address can subscribe to the list from more than one of them, and set all BUT one of them to ¡°No Email¡±. Then it won¡¯t matter which address they are sending from, all will be accepted, but they will still only receive 1 copy of postings. |
Re: Caught by spam
#Privacy
Are you sure this was a spam (or phishing) email? I've been getting a lot of open enrollment emails lately that are not technically spam, but they did target me then sent me their advertising.

¿ªÔÆÌåÓýI am getting a LOT more from this group since it switched. I guess that when people had to do a real act to switch their accounts they thought, ¡°Hey, I had forgotten about that group,¡± and the Email sent to switch reminded them.

Howdy.
Yes. Some folks may only want to be involved "online." I set my various groups to no email when I go on vacation. Aw, a new problem. Apple's Mail.app has started to randomly decided to consider many emails from this group as Junk. I just found 8 emails since about 4 hours ago there, yet have had new emails arrive properly. Many of these had the mangled "from", but two had their proper email addy shown. I have a question, is "invitation" a misnomer? I have not received an invite for either group that moved over to this provider. Brent On Oct 18, 2019, at 3:58 AM, Otto Nikolaus via Groups.Io wrote:

I am generally a minimalist as to posting private info to the net. But to correct this issue of mangling the from shown on groups, I tried this: - signed into groups.io - clicked on (my name) in the upper right and chose account - clicked Identity on the left column - chose Edit under Account Profile - under User Name, I entered a short user name. This email is to test the results. Brent On Oct 17, 2019, at 4:01 PM, Dave Kelly via Groups.Io wrote: I saw that too, but when I look at the email address in the member list it doesn't have that problem. You wouldn't receive any emails if it was wrong. I don't know how or even where I would fix that. It could be because your profile doesn't have the user name filled in so it is substituting your email address. I don't know. You could try updating your profile and see if that fixes it. Looks like a groups.io bug. |

I'm sorry if I was not clear. The prefs was in response to digest vs individual emails, not hijacking.
