So: have streaks sometimes, perfect printing other times, all replicable.

I did _not_ do any cleaning of the heads, because the test patterns and some of the prints were perfect, indicating that it is unlikely to be a print-head issue. The page sizes in the software match the size of the paper loaded in the printer.

I have a Canon Pixma TS6320 printer. Both computers were Macs, one using macOS 10.14 (High Sierra), one using 10.15 (Catalina). Both wireless.

Any hints about what is going wrong would be greatly appreciated.

It¡¯s also interesting to note nearly all (all?) the computers on the top 500 list use Linux as their operating system.

They did SAY Apple Silicon and not ARM, but WE all know what that means.

That makes me wonder if Apple has a skunkworks project to make ARM-compatible chips not licensed by ARM. We know they already design their own chips based on licensed ARM architecture and then pay others to fabricate them. How far is the leap to removing ARM entirely from the system?

After all, AMD has done this with the Intel instruction set and their Ryzen processors handily beat Intel on both price and performance.

Re: Apple Shortcuts

Bonkers, I began downloading the Pulled Over Shortcut and discovered I had to bypass the security of Apple to download an App not on Apple¡¯s list¡.now the age old quandary, do I trust a source that has not been vetted by Apple? No.

What a shame, it would have been great to see the elaborate listing to make all the steps for such an elaborate shortcut, if nothing else.

With all that is going on in society the article that tells Shortcuts that you are being pulled over could be very useful¡very.

Within this article you can download a shortcut already written and all you need to do is speak¡.¡±Hey Siri, I¡¯m getting pulled over¡±¡the app launches, pauses anything playing, dims the screen, turns on the Do Not Disturb, to block anything disturbing your recording, opens your front facing camera and starts recording. As you can see it also sends a message to those you¡¯ve listed to get the info, it gives them the information and sends your location.

Once you are done the app sends the video to those on your list, and gives you the option to save to iCloud, thus having a copy that is somewhere other than your phone in case it¡¯s taken from you.

Of course this could be used for other than just Police, it you find yourself in a nasty situation just start the recording.

I thought you might like to know this was available. Here is the article.

John

Tell Siri you're getting pulled over and this iPhone shortcut will record your interaction with the police

(CNN) ¡ª Amid the widespread protests and anger over police brutality, an iPhone shortcut that allows users to automatically record their interactions with the police is gaining popularity.

By saying, "Hey Siri, I'm getting pulled over," the shortcut -- which a user must first install themselves -- will pause any music that you're playing, turn down the brightness of your phone, turn on the "Do Not Disturb" mode to block any incoming calls, open up your front-facing camera and start a video recording.

It also sends a message to a predesignated contact, letting them know that you're being pulled over and where your current location is. Once you stop the recording, it sends a copy of the video to a predesignated contact and gives you the option to send it to your iCloud or Dropbox.

The "Police" shortcut was first created back in 2018 by Redditor Robert Petersen, but it has been recently updated to fix any bugs and is now called the "I'm being pulled over" shortcut.

"I just wanted a way for anyone to have proof of their version of events in the unlikely scenario that something unexpected happens during a police interaction," Petersen told CNN affiliate KCTV last year. "And if 1 in 10,000 people find my shortcut useful at all I'd be glad."

The shortcut received attention when it launched two years ago, but it's been getting more traction on social media due to the overwhelming call for police reform spurred by the death of George Floyd, a black man who died after a police officer knelt on his neck for nearly nine minutes.

Apparently iphones have a police shortcut link and it does a bunch of things when you tell Siri you're pulled over...?

This is REALLY important if it's legit, all my iphone ppl need to watch this and share.

How to download it
There are a few steps you'll need to do to install the shortcut.
Step 1: To set it up, first download the "Shortcuts" app on your iPhone.
Step 2: Then you have to run another shortcut in the Shortcuts app. If you tap "Gallery" on the bottom right corner, you will see other shortcuts you can run.
Step 3: Next, go to settings, and scroll down to "Shortcuts." Tap it and then toggle the "Allow Untrusted Shortcuts" to on.
Step 4: Open this link in Safari to download the "I'm getting pulled over" shortcut. Tap "Get Shortcut."

Step 6: Choose a contact(s) for who you would like to send your location and a copy of the video recording to. Then tap done.

??As you can see it also sends a message to those you¡¯ve listed to get the info, it gives them the information and sends your location.

?Here is the article.

Re: Apple Shortcuts

Yes Harry, it does a good job of explaining how to put together a simple or involved Shortcut. Look how many changes are controlled with the shortcut for being pulled over, very involved.

The book is ePub & not expensive.

See, if everyone would actually learn to spell and use the correct grammar of their mother tongue, the phishers would be a lot less successful!

You spot counterfeits by knowing what a real one is supposed to look-and-feel like. Ask any bank teller.
