Glen yes just HRD seen is windows (bottles) there, and the others
native linux.
I also have FTBCAT and FTbasicMMO, YCAT etc under wine for Yaesu
gear.
The latest HRD runs fine with its supported programs.
I use Crossover ($) , bottles and wine, to get a comparison.
Modern free wine is very good with winetricks, 'bottles' from
flatpak also works well.
Crossover $ is exxy but every year they have a good black friday
deal, 1/5 of usual price last time,
which is when I get it. It has great NET support etc built in,
and does better with gui's that don't look as good on the others.

Hi? Adrian,
?
I use Mint /
Ubuntu ¨C the latest revisions.
I am curious, are you running the latest HRD, or the last
¡®freeware¡¯ version (which was well behaved on Wine)?? I
suspect the other Ham apps are native ports (mine are)¡..

When
trying to install debian it states: The missing
firmware files are: b43-open/ucode15.fw
b43/ucode15.fw? ? Where do I find this to download?

For me,
I am using Bookworm, but I compile most ham
software from source. I don't rely on the
packages that come with the OS. Basically
because of the lead (or is it lag?) time
from releasing the software to getting it
packaged.
All the
software I use comes with adequate
instructions as to how to compile them. It's
usually just a couple of scripts you have to
run: either based around configure or cmake.
