Regarding flrig on Ventura
14.4.1.? Tested using my Macbook Air with USB interface cable to
FT-710.? The FT-710 and FTdx10 use similar USB port h/w.
install the CP210 driver
found at
reboot the computer
after successful installation
plug in FT-xxx cable if
not already attached
execute flrig and before
attempting to configure for the Yaesu transceiver
open System Settings
application
go to Privacy &
Security / Blue tooth
allow flrig to use
Bluetooth.? do not know why this worked but it did
check the transceiver
USB serial baud rate,?? I use 115200 for my FT-710.
open the flrig
Configuration dialog? to Xcvr
select the transceiver
select the /dev/cu.SLAB_USBtoUART device.? The
/dev/tty.SLAB_USBtoUART was not accessible.? On Ventura the
"tty" devices are opend in lock mode and it appears that
either another application (or the flrig serial port discovery
code) did not completely close that access port.
set the baud to be the
same as the Xcvr
set 1 stop bit
set RTS/CTS
set Poll Intvl to 100
press the Init button
shut down flrig and
restart ... SUCCESS
enable "Rig auto On" and
"Rig auto OFF" on the drop down extras tabs, Misc.
shut down flrig.?
transceiver should turn OFF.
start flrig.?
transceiver will be discovered and turned ON

It looks
like we¡¯re almost there.? Using the steps below fldigi opens
and that ¡°use the microphone¡± question is no longer popping
up.? I¡¯m even able to decode signals.? Yea! I do have a
terminal window open, though, and it just sits there doing
nothing until I close fldigi, at which time it says:
?
Saving session...
...copying shared history...
...saving history...truncating
history files...
...completed.

[Process completed]
?
Unfortunately,
for some reason the waterfall is blank so I have to rely on
the Channels frame to see where the signals are.
?
There is no
$HOME/.flrig/FTDX10.prefs file, probably because I never get
to the point where I can save the configuration.? If it
helps, here are the contents of my flrig.prefs file:
?
; FLTK
preferences file format 1.0
; vendor:
w1hkj.com
;
application: flrig
?
[.]
?
xcvr_name:NONE
?
My apologies
for all of the trouble but your help is greatly appreciated.
Open Finder to /Applications
Right click on the fldigi icon and select "Open
Contents"
Double click "Contents"
Double click "MacOS"
Double click on the fldigi icon.
Does fldigi open without the microphone sob story?
For flrig,? Send me this file $HOME/.flrig/FTDX10.prefs

I'm desperately trying to
ditch Windows and right now the only thing
keeping me there is I am still not able to start
Flrig and FLDigi on my M1 Mac Mini (Sonoma
14..4.1, FTDX10, Signalink). ?
On Flrig, once I set the Rig, Update, and Baud
fields correctly then click Init I get a
never-ending beachball and have to force quit.
On FLDigi I still can't get past the "would like
to access the microphone" pop-up, no matter how
many times I click Allow.
JS8Call is working like a dream and if I move
the cables to a Windows laptop FLDigi works
great there.
Any thoughts?? Please forgive me if the solution
has been posted and I missed it.
