Re: Balloon over Altamont
Oh wow, at that elevation, it may have landed! Unless that's showing elevation above terrain vs elevation above sea level. Thank you Cyndi! 73 Erik KD6RRR On Sat, Oct 14, 2023 at 7:30?AM Cyndi Albro, KK7AZD <cyndi@...> wrote: Greetings all, |

Brown Mountain Bigfoot Chase Saturday September 23rd
Greetings KBARA This event is much smaller in comparison to the annual Crater Lake Rim Run.It will have only 3 stations to be staffed by? communications volunteers. Here is the description of the 3 specific communication volunteer positions and their duties as given by the race director. NCS First race starts?at 8:00am. Finish line officially closes at 3:00pm, but NCS duties would end with the closing of the last aid station (approximately 1pm) NCS would receive runner reports from the two aid stations?and record them, reporting emergencies/issues to the race director. Pillette Road aid station Opens at 8:15am. Closes at approximately 10:30am (or when the last runner passes) The operator records runner numbers / bib numbers and reports them to NCS. Blue Lick Road aid station Opens at 9;30am.Closes at approximately 1:00pm (or when last runner passes) The operator records runner numbers?/ bib numbers and reports them to NCS ? ? The roles are pretty simple for the aid station?operators, essentially checking runners into and out of aid stations, and then reporting that to NCS so runner progress can be tracked. The operators are welcome to help in other ways at the aid stations if they'd like to do so. Both aid stations will have other race volunteer crews whose main focus is on runner support. I suspect the Pillette Road station will be pretty busy in the beginning as it is first on the course and many runners? may still be bunched together, while the Blue lick station will be much more relaxed although open longer as the runners will be more spread out by the time they reach that location. There is plenty of room for more vollinters if you would like to join in Don't?let equipment limitations hinder you as we will be using?cross band repeat so a HT will work fine. One more thing, don't?forget about the?briefing?meeting on Saturday?the 16th. I will be going over everything and there will be question?and answer?time. Location will be at the conference room at WAFD bank the same place we have KBARA meetings at. 5215 S 6th ST Klamath Falls OR .? Time will be at 2:30pm. Thank you all. Walt Costa KK7DRL second vice president KBARA Event Coordinator? ? |
