Re: Request for Comments - Field Day advertising with KLAD

Amateur radio is a PUBLIC SERVICE.? As such all advertising should be in the form of a public service announcement free of charge.

Hello Cyndi,

Not at all. Listening in to their traffic as they go about their mountain top activations will probably be a learning experience for us all, not to mention those actually traveling to the various mountains will probably be happy to know you're there on the air with them in case they need help or directions or other information during their adventures.

Hello Everybody,

Tonight is the ?Monday Tech net at 8:00 PM local time 28.375MHz (0300Z).? Open to all licensed amateur radio operators.? Especially ones holding a Technician class or lower license.? Yes, even if you are one of the RARE persons that still hold a Novice class license you are allowed to operate SSB on the Tech Net frequency.? Tonight's topic will be Field Day scheduled for the last full weekend in June. ?

Also as a head's up on the calendar is the club picnic scheduled for Saturday, July 16 from 11:00 am until 4:00 PM to be held at Wiard Park under the canopy.? In the past to rev up some interest we have been known to schedule a hidden transmitter Fox Hunt in the morning prior to the picnic.

Oh, and don't forget the SeaPac convention to be held in Seaside Or the first weekend of June.

Re: Hogback UHF repeater off the air

Thank you all for your rapid response.?? It turns out that the road to Hogback is clear now. We got feedback from our ODOT guy (I think his name is Charlie...) that they have been up there with no problems. I will be setting up a work party for Saturday afternoon to replace the packet radio and the UHF repeater. I will put more info out at tomorrow night's meeting.

I would also offer my time and my Jeep.? It's lifted with good tires and fairly capable.? I've made some mountain top excursions for work in it where we couldn't get other vehicles.?
