What a great time to get on the air locally and welcome the new ops and give them a chance to test out their new equipment, meet other ops and elmers, overcome some mic fright, and just have fun. As many of you know, I do a lot of portable operations. One struggle in S. OR is trying to reach anyone locally on 2m simplex such as 146.52. It's basically dead in much of S. OR. Why? This is typically the starting point for new operators and a great way to keep in touch with locals as well as see what your equipment can do, be it an HT or base station, instead of what a repeater can do for you. First Fox Hunt of the season.
Greetings KBARA It's time for our first Fox Hunt. Date Saturday May 3 We will meet at Red Rooster on south 6th st 8:30 am for Dutch breakfast. Immediately after breakfast the Hunt will start. We will all leave from the restaurant no cheating lol. The hunt will end at 4 pm ?Frequencies will be as follows. Fox one and two will be on 146.565 The baby will be on 145.300. SEA-PAC 2025 ¨C Call for Abstracts Student Projects
There will be a Student Poster session this year at ¡°The Northwest¡¯s Largest Ham Convention¡±.? ?Space has been set aside near the glass on the east side of the Convention Center (by the HRO booth) for college and university students to give brief presentations on their projects or experiments. These ¡°poster sessions¡± are similar to science fairs but at a more advanced level.? ?Please pass on request if you can think of anyone who may be interested in a submission.
