Hello Walt!
It is a new club that was reportedly formed in order to be able to place a "club callsign" on the new D-Star repeater here in town.
The club call is KK7RUU.
That's all I know for sure so far, although the trustee of it, Mike AG7YO, definitely expressed interest in talking to the KBARA about the possibility of signing an agreement to co-locate at one of the KBARA repeater sites. That's something they will have to talk to the club officers about and then the membership will need to vote on, if it's presented as an option.
Please do let me know if there's any more questions or concerns or information or ideas about all of this!

Walt KK7DRL?
Hello all,
Now that we have a new 440 D-star repeater here in town being operated by the Hogback Amateur Radio Club, would the KBARA be interested in a 2 meter and/or 440 D-star repeater as well?
There is a new in box Icom ID-RP4010V (440 version) and a new in box Icom ID-RP2010V (144 version) available from a ham in Virginia for $1000 each with free shipping. These repeaters normally cost $1,799.99 new.
They would also need power supplies, duplexers, feedlines, antennas, and rack space to get on the air.
These repeaters are ¡°mixed mode¡± in that they can act as both D-Star (digital) and FM (analog), so a D-Star capable radio would not be required to use them.
They would be a great addition to the club¡¯s assets, especially with open space on Stukel Mountain, open space on Plum Ridge (if we¡¯re able to access it), as well as potential sites on Swan Lake Point or Applegate Butte if the owners would allow it for additional coverage in the Chiloquin and Sprague River areas. I believe Swan Lake Point would have the better coverage for those communities. Perhaps even could be used in the club trailer?
Anyone have any ideas or questions or comments or concerns about such a thing for the club?
