DX Blob Tips
15
Fellow L32 Users: Nothing big, but I'm trying to get the "tips" of my LoTW/OQRS blobs to indicate the # of days since last LoTW and "QSL" when hovering over the blob. I've searched the forum, the manual, and looked and looked at all my options, but still can't get it to work. *The blobs themselves* have always worked perfectly in the Band Map, Log Entry, and Spots windows, it's just that the blob tips aren't showing. As suggested in the manual I've tried enabling users who have uploaded within the last couple of years to show. Any ideas? I can live without the feature, maybe I'm bored, but I thought it would be fun and a little more useful to see who is uploading and who is lazy. Tnx & 73, Bob - W9XY

Trying to understand better!
3
Good afternoon and ciao, I want to share with you, Friends of N1MM, CWOps, Logger32 and others, a really strange thing that in 50 years of Radio and 45 of Contest has never happened to me! I will start by saying that I operated on 10m, on Saturday, 546 Qso, from IB9T which is at 480m a.s.l., High Power, 6el rotary yagi at 23m from the ground and 4el yagi fixed to EU. The propagation was really bad and really ¡°strange¡±, like I have never seen before. ASIA: I would say that it was the only continent that perfectly respected the various antenna directions, i.e. JA, UA, UA0 and so on, at about 45¡ã. EUROPE: morning, very strange, from whatever direction the signals came, the only way to listen well was with an antenna to NE; from the Spanish, to the French, to the Germans, HB9 and then of course the various SP, LY, YL, ES, YO etc etc, qso possible only with antenna to NE and only with the highest yagi! Afternoon: Qso with EU possible only with high antenna in PY direction, abt 220¡ã/250¡ã, which for Sicily means long path with EU! AFRICA: no problem, also for the low quantity of qso always easily possible with antenna towards South. SOUTH AMERICA: qso short path, abt 230¡ã/250¡ã, very early opening already in the late morning, since there was no opening at all with the USA/VE; OCEANIA: good presence with antenna at 90¡ã/110¡ã NORTH AMERICA: really strange, no VE, not even one! 10 Qso in total, 2 with WP3Z and VP5M and 8 USA! (on 10m, usually the qso with NA are several hundred!) Note: here in Sicily the VE/USA start to arrive around 11z, so every now and then with the high yagi I made some calls around 320¡ã, but no one ever answered to me, except for some EU/UA0 long path. The strange thing with the NA, never happened to me in so many years of contest: all 8 qsos with the USA were possible only and exclusively with my antenna towards South America, 220¡ã/240¡ã (LU/PY direction). If I tried to listen better to the really low signals from those directions, turning the antenna towards the "right direction" i.e. 310¡ã/330¡ã, the USA signals literally disappeared and the qso was not possible! I remember in particular the qso with N4OX, 11:45z and already path with the PY/LU wide open even if really very early, USA signal really low so I try to turn to 300¡ã towards Georgia but N4OX disappears. So I go back towards SW (LU/PY), I make CQ again, he answers me again and with difficulty we manage to hear the respective progressive numbers! The situation for the whole afternoon and until the evening remains the same: all the various qsos and from any part of the world, were possible with the high yagi in the SW direction; South America at S9+20, the rest of the world EU, UA, UA9, UN, JA etc at about S 5/7, but well understandable long path! It never happened that the NA arrived in Sicily via South West ONLY, giving them the side of the my beam! ? I would like to know your opinion, to understand a little more, thanks! 73 Giu IT9VDQ @ IB9T

Support code question
10
The website has a support function https://www.logger32.net/support.html that includes coding https://www.logger32.net/support.html#coding . That area has a couple of sections - Sample code for Logger32 v3.30 External Interface - Sample code for Logger32 v3.23 Internet Lookup I assume that this is how the utilities files are written (https://www.logger32.net/utilities.html) Is there documentation for the interfaces, or are you just expected to play with the code until you get what you want? -- Mark W8GU

help about telnet cluster and qso AD
22
hi i am a new user of logger32 and i am trying to understand its potential day by day before switching definitively, although in my opinion i see it not very intuitive but with time maybe..... i have two questions to ask who wants to help me: 1) how do you align/justify the lines in the TELNET cluster window? 2) the QSO insertion window i find it difficult to insert the contact, i have to use the manual one. in my old log i do not enter the frequency but only the band and mode here it asks me for the frequency and i see the default frequency and mode. how can i vary this window by adding other fields as i like? thanks

IC-7100 cw keyer access from Logger32?
4
Hi, all, I recently won a brand new IC-7100 at Hamvention. My first brand new radio other than a kit. Sweet! I have been using Logger32 for many years, so the first order of business was hooking it up. Digging deeper in the manual, I realized that this rig supports a CI-V interface for text-to-code. I still copy at 25wpm, so I figured I would set aside my WinKeyer and gain back a little space on my desk. I was sad to realize that I cannot seem to figure out how to interface with this rig's keyer through CI-V. I saw some stuff in the manual about being able to use a CAT based keyer using the Radio Control Panel (2.1.3), but if I understand correctly, that would not let me type free text to the keyer. I would only be able to do that from the CW Machine interface, and if I understand correctly, CW Machine only supports WinKeyer and "Software Keying, which is very different from CAT keying. I just wanted to make sure I am not missing something. I guess I could just pull out the trusty WinKeyer again, but it seemed like such a shame not to use the new rig's features. (I know the 7100 was released in 2012, but it is a brand new radio) Mark W8GU

Log entry window tab order
7
Hi, Was attempting to set up the tab order for the CQWW WPX contest. Normally not an issue. I just uncheck all the fields and recheck those required, in this case 1 (fixed) and 2 User-7 (SRX) and press accept. At this point I see all the possible check boxes and the accept and cancel buttons are over written with diagonal lines along with the logbook page slider. Not much can then be done and a report flashes up Logger 32 not responding and closes - vanishes. Frequently when testing an error box displays with Run-time error '438': Object doesn't support this property or method This behaviour exists on two PC's one running L32 337 and the other 334. Both are running Windows 11 Home 24H2 with latest updates. Anyone else seeing this behaviour? Regards, Mike VP8NO

L32 Will not restart
19
Hello, L32 again crashed my PC it happens randomly sometimes multiple times in an hour sometimes not in a day(old topic). However, this time I get the following error: dB Open Error: VIS_DISK_ERROR Error opening C:\Logger32\Alias32. Program will abort. Although the user interface remains you cannot rollback, rebuild log, or change logs. Is there any way to recover other than reloading L32? Thanks, Art - W1AJT / VE3CT

Suggestion for Logger32 User Manual
4
First - thank you for all the free support for the fantastic Logger32! My suggestion: In section 8.1 which tells you how to use multiple callsigns, the User Manual correctly says how to switch to a different logbook. The immediate question that comes to mind is "but how do I create another logbook?" What would be great is to add a sentence saying "See section 8.9 on how to create a new logbook." A future AI thing: it's possible to upload a PDF and then ask an AI questions about the PDF (we do this at work sometimes). Currently AIs are not capable of ingesting more than about a 100 page PDF (at least in "chat mode"). The excellent User Manual is well over 900 pages so this can't be done yet. But just imagine if the entire manual could be uploaded into an AI so you could ask it questions! Users could ask their dumb questions (like mine) and it would take a big load off of the heroes helping all of us dummies out here! 73 Mike M0AGP/M4E

DXMap API
3
Hi Bob, I hope you are doing great! I came across this interesting website https://dxmap.f5uii.net/ Just wondering if you consider interesting the possibility of connecting it with Logger32. The API reference is available here https://dxmap.f5uii.net/help/index.html Features Live Keyboarding : While typing the callsign in the log, HamDXMap will be informed, this partial callsign is copied in the RX callsign zone of HamDXMap. You will be able to locate the caller on the worldmap. You can detect any inconsistencies in the situation by looking at the MUF/foF2 curve in the panel. Logged Call : When the callsign is logged, the entire callsign is saved in HamDXMap (client brownser side). A circle with red border is drawed on the map. The display of these points is globally authorised/forbidden by the user with the Log source, in the filter section. DX-Cluster : All the spots coming over wtTelnet (Win-Test DXCluster module) are memorized on your browser in HamDXMap during a giving configured time (Storage depth parameter). User can filter the spot and make a ring be sounded for all new spot displayed. The display of these DXCluster spots is globally authorised/forbidden by the user with the DXc source, in the filter section. 73 Andrea, iz2lsc

Issue with L32LogSynch or...?

#ft8
#jtdx
#log
Hi, Logger32 version 4.0.336 L32LogSyncg version 2.019.8 JTDX v2.2.160-rc7-d2 LogSync flagged with Auto Upload qsos to Lotw upon qso completion. Same flag with Auto Upload qsos to ClubLog upon qso completion So all qsos are always uploaded to Lotw and ClubLog without problems at the end of the qso A popup appears when I work on 60 meters: I am about to reset the complex keys in the database and have temporarily lost track of data for your QSO with (call station worked) on FT8. dbBusy flag is set to False. I have not modified your logbook. Please try this again The qso is not uploaded to Lotw and ClubLog but is recorded on Logger32 Well... I change band, I do not touch anything on Logger32 or on L32LogSynch, I make the qso and at the end the qso is uploaded regularly on Lotw and Clublog I change the band again, I go back to 60 meters and the same issue occurs, the qso make on 60 meter is not uploaded to Lotw and ClubLog The issue only occurs when I'm working in 60 meters Unfortunately I have not tested with WSJTX What should I do to solve the problem? Many thanks and best 73 de Gianni IK6CGO

Macros before starting JTDX

Hello, when I start JTDX from UDP, the written macros work. If I start JTDX from DX Spot, the macros do not work. Delay after starting JTDX does not affect this. Thanks! 73 Vytas LZ2VQ

Logger32 on cloud server ??
Hi, I?m just wondering if there is a configuration option to run Logger32 locally but keep the data files in any remote or could server. That would allow us to run Logger32 on any device, computer or even mobile phone, and access the same and unique log data file. Thank you 73, Maximo EA1DDO

time 00.00.00
10
When I log new QSO, sometimes the log time becomes 00.00.00, even though the computer and logger clock (bottom left corner) show the correct time. The same problem occurs in the TIME window (00,00,00) when I start " ADD QSOS MANUALLY". Same problem on two different PCs. What could be wrong?
