Logger32 auto-update v4.0.337 is on-line

Fixes/changes for this release?include:
?
Fixed a bug on the WAZ award window where Confirmed/Granted zones were not showing correctly.
?
If the Slave port is configured for Kenwood radio, the FR0; command (Set VFO-A) is no longer sent with the frequency when the primary radio is QSYd.
?
The menus on the Tracking Window and NCDXF Beacons Windows to select Miller cylindrical projection maps have been changed to Equidistant cylindrical Projection. No need to change the maps, it is just the menu captions that were wrong.
?
Ver 4.0.54 of the CW Machine is included in this update. It corrects a typographical error on the Software keyer setup window.
?
Previously the Shift+DX Spot click to send the frequency to VFO-B or the SO2R only worked for the DX Spot Window and the BandMap. Changes have been made so it now works with?the Monitor BandMaps as well. Also, you can use Shift+DX Spot click, Ctrl+DX Spot click, or Alt+DX Spot click.
?
Added a 'Dark Mode' theme to the Logbook Entry Window.

For DXpedition alerts that do not provide IOTA information, and the IOTA can not be derived from the prefix, Try this practical example to address the problem. Look at the DXpeditionsxx.txt file for April (or May) and you will see an entry for TX9A^45772^45777^https://www.dx-world.net/tx9a-austral-islands-dxpedition-202/ for the current?Austral Island DXpadition. There is no information about what IOTA this is. If you Google //www.dx-world.net/tx9a-austral-islands-dxpedition-202/ you will see the DXpedition is on OC-152. Edit the entry to add the IOTA like this TX9A^45772^45777^https://www.dx-world.net/tx9a-austral-islands-dxpedition-202/"OC-152 Save the change. For the duration?of the DXpedition, Logger32 knows where the IOTA of the TX8A DX Spot is, and will log QSOs with the IOTA, and show TX8A on the IOTA DX Spot map. NOTE: The first character of the red text is a circumflex or caret. ASCII 94.

And remember to backup, backup,, and backup again. Enjoy.

Re: Problems with lagging / MMTTY engine

Sounds to me like the PC periodically needs to take a time out to page fault, swap memory, or do some other high priority housekeeping.
?
Have you tries using MMVari set to RTTY? What is the % memory utilization when the problem occurs? What is the disk activity when the problem occurs?
?
I just made five quick dummy RTTY QSOs with MMTTY, and no problem with freezing/lagging. SeventyThree(s).

Hi Group,
?
Just curious to know... Anyone who have experienced that the software is lagging...??
?
I have the latest version of the software, and when I'm running RTTY with the MMTTY engine embedded, I frequently encounter lagging.
Everything freezes, buttons, spectrogram, everything for say 10-15 seconds, and then it resumes into normal operation. Despite that an ongoing transmission of a macro continues, it is absolutely annoying in a contest.
It happens randomly, but it seems that when I right click the mouse to enter serial number, QTH, locator, etc., it often triggers a lag -- not every time, but often.
?
I have tried to monitor the CPU load for Logger32 (i5 processor), and it is quite high (30-40%) when the event occurs.
I'm using the microHAM DXP interface attached via USB to the PC. The rig is a Kenwood TS-870 also connected to the DXP via RS-232.
?
The problem only occurs when running the MMTTY engine in Logger32. Running MMTTY as stand alone, everything works flawlessly. Similarly, no problems at all when running fldigi or WSJT.
?
Any idea...??
?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Logger Radio Configuration for Yaesu FT-891

Observant as usual Bob. 4SEC is a bit slow but there are times when its nice to have it slow, like when it keeps interrupting something. normally I set it to 1sec.

Re: FT8 - Error in Soundinput

A bit more grist for the mill.
?
I have 3 sound cards on my Win10 machine. One is built-in and the other include 2 external USB types (1 for the Navigator interface and a 2nd for CW Skimmer). As indicated earlier, the Navigator Interface is not working AND now the CW Skimmer sound card is not functioning. All sound cards are recognized in Device Manager but the only card currently actually passing receive audio to the computer is the built-in sound card?
?
(Yes have checked to ensure that the correct sound card is selected in the software and on the taskbar!)

FT8 - Error in Soundinput

First let me state that I do not think this is a Logger32 issue! I thought I'd poll the group for some advice!
?
I have been using a Navigator interface in the same configuration for digital modes including FT8 etc for years. Suddenly today when I tried FT8 I got the following message "An error opening the audio input device has occurred." I checked the audio source selection (USB Audio Codec) and all is well. I checked device driver and all the ports "seem" good. In addition, I could transmit an FT8 signal using the Navigator interface.
?
After several Win10 reboots but before going further and re-installing the Navigator ports I decided to try another rig. This time I used my QMX+ qrp rig with a BUILT-IN sound card. After setting up the QMX+ I received the same error? I tried both rigs using JTDX outside of Logger32. The same error?
?
The fact that the error seems independent of the sound card is baffling and suggests that neither Logger32 nor the Navigator interface is the issue and it might be a Windows10 problem??
?
Has anyone else encountered a similar problem? Thoughts appreciated.
?
Thanks,
